Denied a $20.00 E-Card

Write a Letter to this Company

On July 7, 2012, I was contacted by Omaha Steaks outbound call center regarding current specials and offers that they were having. I informed the caller, Jaylen, that I had been contacted several times in the past two weeks by a representative named Jerry, who had made me an offer of a $20.00 e-card if I placed an order (no specific package was named). I advised Jerry that as a loyal Omaha Steak customer I always ordered the Happy Family Combo and that was the package that I wanted. I told Jaylen that I wanted the $20.00 e-card that I was promised to go with this order. Jaylen consulted with a supervisor and they both adamantly refused to include the $20.00 e-card that I was promised with this order. I advised Jaylen that it reflected poorly on the manager to refuse to give me the card that was promised by their call center and to remove my name from the outbound call list. I was appalled by the way that this matter was handled. I placed my order online (Confirmation #G0872844NNMM), rather than allow the call center to place the order.

I would like Omaha Steaks to refund $20.00 from my July 7th order and to email me another $20.00 e-card for my next order to compensate me for the absolute way they harassed me for two weeks to place an order and then deny me the offer that was promised to me.

There's the problem.

Jerry called you with the offer. You apparently didn't take up the
offer when jerry called but talked to someone else named Jaylen.

Jaylen even tried to get you the card but was unable.

So after being told "no" ... you now want TWICE that back?

I'm not sure why you are entitled to the card in the first place since
you didn't order when you spoke with Jerry. But another $20 bucks on
top of that? For what? Because you're mad?

Being mad at someone does not mean they owe you anything back.

I have received email offers in the past with a special of a $20
e-card as well. Those offers always state that you have to purchase a
specific dollar amount of food or a specific package.

Vannessa D.,

As I read this you were offered a $20 incentive several times prior
from their call center after which you decided to order online.

Those incentives are perishable in that they are tied to the
particular date and time of a call from one of the call centers. My
guess is when call volume is weak management incetivizes both their
associates and customers by making these offers available for that
date and time.

Therefore and in my humble opinion a refund as well as a $ 20 e card
is not due for what happened. That, however, is not to say, that they
might offer a goodwill e-card.
