Silly not to go back to a store you spent "10's of thousands of dollars" at and now because of 10 bucks you will go somewhere else. Where? So you will spend more at another store because of 10 bucks. That's called throwing the baby out with the bath water. If "the man" told you that you were wrong, you could ask to see the manager. If it's not a proper price match and you don't get the 10 bucks then don't buy them or go where you can get them cheaper from the place you wanted them to match it at. Michael E. you are silly.

Every Wal-mart store is supposed to have copies of their competitors ad so they will be able to double check them for price matching. It is in their price matching policy that customers are not required to bring in the ad. My local Wal-mart has been a hit or miss with price matching. Sometimes they just take my word for it,sometimes they check the ad. It is the cashiers decision on how they handle a price match, but sometimes they have not had their competitors ad so I always bring an ad in with me just in case. Some stores will even call their competitor to check on their price to verify the price match if no one has the ad. If the cashier says no and you have a legitimate price match, tell the cashier to call the manager, and wait at the register for them to verify the price match. this sometimes holds up the lines but it is their fault for not having copies of competitors ads at each register for a quick check.

Treat you like a human being? Being treated like a human being means you should get your way? Did you provide the ad, with the lower advertised price? Youre supposed to. Contrary to popular belief, customer service assoc. do n ot memorize the competitors prices for EVERYTHING.

Just because you were denied a price match does not mean that you never have to shop at that Wal-mart again.
Why did you mention in your complaint that you have spent 10's of thousands of dollars at Wal-mart? What do you want Wal-mart to do regarding that?

You are so "pissed off" over Wal-Mart not price matching $10.00 that "you may never go back" Really?

The problem with price matching is that there's a lot of factors involved.
How much you spend is not a deciding factor.
IIRC the factors include
- whether or not the items match (they have to be *identical*, right down to the same brand, size, and flavor.
- proof of the sale. they can't just take someone's word for it.
- within a specific distance. they're not going to price match from another city where things might be cheaper.
I know your request is "treat me like a human being" but... I don't see where telling someone "no" equates to being treated inhumanely. Sometimes the answer is no.
And since the only facts presented was that they didn't give you "4 12-packs for 10 bucks" it's hard to tell if they were wrong to tell you no or not, since it's not clear what brands you were trying to compare, or what flavors etc.

So because they denied the price match, you were not treated as a human being? I don't understand that. Was it possible the match required a coupon? That's how most of the larger grocery stores do it in order to get a discount like that.

Did you bring in an ad showing the soda was currently on sale? Like all other stores, I'm sure they have certain requirements that must be met before they will price match.
I personally dislike the concept of price matching. If I see something I want on sale I simply go to the store that has it on sale and buy it. I don't waste my time going to a different store and asking them to price match it.

Are the sodas actually on sale somewhere for 4/$10, or have you just seen them at that price somewhere in the past? The matched prices have to be a current price, not one that may have been 6 months ago. For instance, around here, the current cheapest sale price is Pepsi products for 4/$11, next week will probably be Coke or RC products, but if I went to Wal-Mart to price match, I couldn't say "I want to ad match these Diet Cokes because they will probably be on sale next week"
