I received order: on 7/19/12 via FEDX. . As I was setting up the unit and becoming familar with it. I went to the movie section and found a PRE-INSTALL pornography installed on the unit showing a couple having sex. I called my local WalMart, Pouslbo, Washington. There was nothing they can do, since I brought it online.
I called 1-800-966-6546 and the associate could not do anything for me, but say "I am sorry". WalMart is supposed to be a "family value" store.
I am willing to work with Walmart. I do not want to have to expose this to the local news media or hire an attorney. This is unsat. I will hold on to the unit as evidence. I am afraid millions of buyers may have this problem and the manufacture need to made aware of this ASAP. I spoke with a supervisor Ashley of the North West call center, AL. She said nothing can be done and will have to pass this information on. She wanted me to accept a full refund or replacement.
I feel to resolve this matter, WalMart should give me a full refund, also as gesture of goodwill give me a notebook computer for my problems or a netbook. I will hold on to the unit as evidence and would like to hear back within 10 business from date 7/23/12. I do not want to contact the attorney general office or an attorney, but something has to be done.
You can look up the order number I provided for my address.
Thank you!

this is so terrible, they should give you a free CAR to make up for all your aggravation. Think big.

AND you want a free computer? I think not. By the way, what is a "family value" store?

actually one last question - I have several e-readers, laptops, ipods, smartphones ect between all the members of our family and I can not think of ONE device that comes pre-installed with ANY movies, period - even my smartphone that has some movie app pre-installed will only play the theater trailers unless you buy something.
Where on the device did you manage to find a pre-installed movie? Let alone porn?

First - Walmart doesn't make this item - this issue should be addressed with the manufacturer. Walmart is not responsible for this what the manufacturer places on their units.
Second - They have offered you a replacement and/or refund. How is this not working with you?
Third - Define pornography. My great aunt believes that 90% of mainstream media and movies and magazines are straight up pornography. She has seen movie previews that she goes on rants about.
Forth. Blackmail is ILLEGAL and that is what you are doing in this letter.
Fifth - Despite extensive googling and even reading every review on Amazon and CNET I could not find one other single person who had this problem.
Sixth - If you ACTUALLY want the manufacturer to be able to get to the bottom of why your e-reader was pre-installed with "porn" you should return it for a refund/replacement.
And lastly - Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that this was a new item and not a re-stocked return? It is completely possible that this had been bought before, someone used it for a little bit, then returned the item and it was restocked on the shelves without anyone checking. This happens frequently in retail.

Sounds to me like this is the best eReader on the marketplace.
Not only does it do what other eReaders do, but you get free porn too.
Never planned on buying one of those doo-dads, but maybe I should take a second look considering this new evidence.

No no no no no. YOu don't get a refund. You don't get a notebook computer. You don't even need a lawyer (you haven't suffered any DAMAGES).
This is a weird problem and they definitely should be notified (as you tried to do). But it's not lawsuit worthy (no judge would certify you, b/c you have no case).
Please stop tryhing to turn this into a way to get free stuff and instead just get over it.

How?
They offered to fix it by giving you a full refund or replacing it.
Instead of taking that you're saying that they have to give you all of your money back AND give you a free computer. Or you'll get a lawyer and the media after them...
I don't see anything in that statement that says "willing to work with walmart" on this.

Just delete the file. Problem solved. Using it as a fulcrum to try and get some $1000 worth of free stuff just isn't right.
