Best Buy has a number of commercials out which focus on the utter joy of receiving a Best Buy present for Christmas.
One of them, filmed in black and white, shows two young children opening a present and screaming in joy. Fast forward to the present and the present is replaced by a Best Buy present with presumably the same reaction.
This commercial really brings back memories of doing...

Last Wednesday, PFB user Sleeperhold committed a crime on our site. A crime for which he was summarily judged and convicted without a moment's hesitation.
And what was his crime? Well, in the Movies At The Hilton discussion thread, he wrote a comment which asked a very simple question--"What was wrong with the OP's post?".
For this he was given the name "trollyshenanny" which was...

Top Twenty Letters |

Controversy has always surrounded the Top Twenty Letter list which appears on the secondary pages of PFB.
If I understand correctly, the concerns are as follows:
1. Letters stay on the list too long.
2. People are purposefully writing "inane" letters in order to get them onto the Top Twenty list and keep them there.
The purpose of the Top Twenty Letter list is to highlight those...

The Power Of Bad Advertising |

Everyone talks about the power of advertising. But what about the power of "bad" advertising?
There are three television commercials running right now that, frankly, I hate. With a passion.
The first is a KFC commercial. Two twentysomething guys are heading out the door. One of the guys holds up a KFC flyer. His wife/girlfriend/whatever is on the phone. She brightens and, without...

Way back in the mid eighties, I was a general manager for Dennys.
Dennys was (and probably still is) famous for being a late night hang out. It was not uncommon for groups of people to show up in the late evening and sit there the whole night...for seven or eight hours. All they would order was coffee and all their refills were free. So, for about a buck, they got all the coffee they could...

There have been a flurry of commercials on television lately from Burlington Coat Factory that talk about their new cash refund policy.
New cash refund policy?
The first time I saw the commercial, I shrugged it off. There is a Burlington Coat Factory outlet about ten miles from where I live however Ive only been inside once; about 20 years ago. So I have no idea how they conduct...

Recently, Venice posted a comment in the Suggestion Box in which she noted there seems to be a rash of letters being removed from PFB at the letter writer's request.
First of all, she is right. There have been a lot more letters being removed lately. And I responded with the four main reasons...

From The Frontlines Of New Airline Restrictions |

From the frontlines of the new airline restrictions comes this tale from our very own LadyMac who happened to head down to the Bahamas right about the same time all of the excitement was taking place over in Britain. Here then is a quick description of what took place as LadyMac tried to escape the USA...

Isn't it interesting....
**People who've never bought a computer before yet order their first one through Dell
**People who automatically assume every change a company makes is the result of some evil conspiracy directed specifically at THEM
**Companies that claim to care yet make it nearly impossible to get in touch with a human being
**People who demand a written...
