I hope you can help me. I have a complaint I'd like to register with you about the quality of a car made by Jeep. The VIN (vehicle identification number) is 1J4FA49S7xxxxxxxx.
Purchased a new Jeep Wrangler in 2001. Now the engine is bad with no more than 11000 miles. It seems that there is either mixed steel or bad heat treating in the engine parts of the 4.0 liter engine. I'm having the Jeep repaired now but they would not give me a loan car stating the Chrysler policy unless I bought a special warranty! What a joke! It isn't my fault I got a faulty engine. Now I wonder if the rest of the engine is any good? Would like a whole new engine instead of just replacing the lifters and the cam. The cam lobe in # 3 piston is gone. The # 3 lifter is badly damaged. How many more Jeeps out there are like this? The dealer I took it to did well so far to repair it as according to their policy. However I believe that there is an inheriant problem inside this engine and needs to be looked after.
As a result of this, you have most likely lost my future business, and I can't see myself recommending your cars to my friends and family.
Here's what I would like to see you do to provide resolution: I would like an answer on the problem with the cam part and the lifter that caused the problem. Whether it was the wrong grade of steel or the heat treatment was bad. Would like a new engine put in my car. I know this is rather extream however if Jeep is interested in Quality they should of given me a Jeep with a quality engine and not bad internal parts. I'm glad I didn't go to Florida in this Jeep and have it break down! You think I'm angry now?!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
