Samsung Camcorder

I was sold a camcorder by an associate who said it was really good. I had not had much time to use it other than outside during an egghunt on Easter. The picures weren't excellent, but they weren't too bad. The footage lost some quality when using zoom, which is what I was specifically told it shouldn't do.
Then, on April 19, my Chow had her puppies. I read the manual and experimented. I left on all of my lights. No matter what I did, none of the pictures or video taken in the house turned out. All were very dark.
The camera also did not work well for action and overcast shots of my daughters later that week during soccer games.
I took the camera back, with the receipt and all pieces, manuals, etc in the original packaging. The associate WOULD NOT return it or even exchange it. The excuse was that they do not exchange anything from electonics. Even when I showed the Return Policy stating that that understandibly applied to video games, movies, CD's. computer programs, etc, the associate would not help me.
When I bought the camera, the associate back in electronics specifically told me I had 90 days to return it. The receipt also said this and did outline the policy, limited as described above.
I have this camera that was overpriced and less that the quality I expected from it and cannot get my money back or even exchange it for an upgrade at the store at which I bought it...not in accordance to its own policy.
Take back my camera, with the original packaging and all parts and the original receipt. I do not think it is undeserved for you to compensate me for the time and effort I took when I the store failed to take it back or to write this and being stuck with this subquality product. It is the end of the school year and now all I am getting is dark, grainy photos and video of concerts, art shows and award ceremonies. Respond to this quickly as I have promotions, tournaments, and graduations coming up fast.

Hm...I thought Samsung usually put out a good product and I also didn't know Kmart had a 90 day return policy for electronics. Ah, for being one company, there sure are major differences between Sears and K-mart.
At Sears, we might have exchanged it for you, but denied a refund, as it was over the 30 day return policy. These are all mights because every manager is different.
I think Kmart should have given you an exchange for either the same product or a different one. Maybe you got a faulty piece of merchandise, which isn't Kmart's or your fault.
You could...and I HATE suggesting this...return it to a different Kmart. It sounds like this Kmart is not up and clear on their own policies.

I guess the only advice I can offer is, for the future, rely on consumer reports and feedback from other users, rather than the associate. It's sad that you were sold something expensive like that that isn't performing well, and now you're stuck with it.
And that they won't honor the 90 day verbal thing you were told is shady.
Maybe if you did some searching online, you could find solutions to the dark, grainy photos?
Good luck!

I get your point about the 90 day policy, but that is what the associate told me.
As it is, I tried to return it after about 45 days or so. It had only been used 3-4 times. Not even a disc full of video footage and some pictures on an SD card.
The point is that they did not honor what the associate said...which she verified...or their own policy which makes no exception of anything remotely camera-like.
Tank you for your input.

The returns policy at Kmart.com seems to be as you quoted - software, video games and DVD's are non-returnable. But in my mind, those are not electronics (I am assuming by video games it means the game, not the platform).
I don't see electronics as an exception to the 90 day return "for any reason you are not satisfied in the original packaging" policy. I see nothing that states it needs to be unopened.
Therefore, I am as confused as you as to where cameras are stated to be an exception. That said, the policy as we are interpreting it sounds too good to be true. I think electronics *should* be an exception. After using a camera for 80 days, simply take it back for a refund. How can that be (people would abuse this big time - weddings, special events, etc). It sounds like something is missing here.
