I hate rude employees!!!

Posted Thu August 20, 2009 7:09 pm, by karla l. written to Kohl's Department Stores

Write a Letter to this Company

Hi I recently went to kohls to try to buy clothes for my child for back to school here in laredo texas and I wanted to let you know that theres extremely rude employees there, especially this woman black curly hair, she looks like a lesbian, sorry to describe her in that way but she wasn't wearing her name tag so I couldn't get her name, she seems in her early 30's, she's the worst employee i've ever met in my life. She's suppouse to give customer satisfaction and treat customers with respect and she didn't even try not even close, she's not professional at all. I've gone several times and observed the way they treat there customers and believe me its not good. There was even a customer infront of me that wanted to pay with a 5 dollar off coupon and they didn't even want to accept it, that curly woman employee was telling the customer mean things and even told the poor customer not to show up ever again, I don't think thats right at all, do they think they own the darn place or who are they to tell the customers not to come back, it's absurd. That's money that the place lost for not attending that customer just because they had a coupon, if they don't want to accept any coupons then they should have a huge sign outside stating that, so customers won't waste there time shopping. I feel that you're going to lose alot of valuable customers by those horrifying employees at that kohls in Laredo Texas. Even the managers seem really corrupted. Theres even a mess all over the department at that kohls, not to mention the dressing rooms there filled with clothes all over the floor and hangers everywhere. Its even hard to find the size I want because everything is mixed and out of place. I'm very dissappointed in this Kohl i've been to the one in Lewisville Texas and its way better, the employees in Lewisville are alot friendlier and greet you with a smile and help you out in whatever you need but this one in Laredo Texas has to many unprofressional, ghetto, moody, stuck-up, grouchy women that majorly show they dont like there job and take it out on us customers, I personally think people like that should just stay home and not work around other people. I really hope you take this into consideration and please do something about it.

Terminate that horrible employee! Because with employee's like that its sure going to make kohls lose alot of important customers!

I use to work for kohls for 2 yrs, they fired me for things I dont want
to mention on here, but the location I worked at didnt like me showing
up for work early and they would pin the blame that someone else did
on me. all i can say is kohls is not a good place to work at...

When you find employees in a store rude, be extra nice and after you
have paid for your merchandise and are exiting the store, ask at the
customer service desk for the managers name and telephone number and
for the store's regional office and/or regional manager name and their
associated telephone numbers. When you get home, get out your receipt
and call the store's regional office or regional manager, calmy and
very nicely tell the store's manager/rep about the rude behavior and
use the employee number on the receipt and a personal identifying
description to identify the employee having caused the problem.
Chances are the offending employee will be counseled or terminated and
you will get extra nice discount coupons in the mail.

And also, did you know what exactly happened BEFORE the manager told
the customer to not come back? Maybe the customer was being
discriminating?Rude?Loud? Additionally, don't managers run the place
and don't they have the right to tell obnoxious people to leave? As
stated earlier, you had no idea what the manager was dealing with. For
all you know it could have been a threat

And if the manager was lesbian or not, is it any of your business? You
sound discriminating. You really oughtta watch what you say these
days, it can cause major problems, even some being legal problems.

This would be a much better letter, I imagine, if you quit with the
judgments ("looks like a lesbian, sorry," "worst employee i've ever
met," "suppouse to give customer satisfaction ... not even close,"
"think they own the darn place," etc.) and described what, exactly,
you observed.

Your idea of what makes a manager seem "really corrupted" and mine may
be the same or may not be. I don't know you, so I don't know. So
when I read a letter in which you complain that "Even the managers
seem really corrupted," I can't tell whether the managers are, in
fact, doing anything wrong at all. If it were my job to read your
letter and take appropriate action, I wouldn't be able to do much
about your complaints, because other than someone telling someone else
not to show up ever again (and even there you didn't provide enough
context for me to know whether someone said "This coupon expired in
October. I can't honor it 10 months later, and if you are going to
contniue to bring it in every week you might as well never come back
again" or "You look like a lesbian, sorry, I never want to see you
ever again") and that customers are trashing the fitting rooms faster
than the employees are cleaning up (because they don't have enough
workers on the floor? or because they are not doing the tasks they
are assigned?) I would have no idea what is going on there.

It is clear that you should go to the Kohl's in Lewiston rather than
the one in Laredo. If you do that, and if enough other people who
have reached the same conclusions that you have do the same thing --
that would be, I imagine, everyone who is upset at all and equidistant
from the two stores plus everyone who is closer to the Laredo store
and upset enough to pay for however much extra gas it takes to get to
Lewiston -- then they will observe from the sales figures that the
Lewiston store is getting more business and the Laredo store less
business than you would expect if they were equally attractive to
customers. Eventually someone who is responsible for boosting sales
figures in Laredo will decide a change of staff is warranted (or the
woman you dislike will stop working there for other reasons) and you
will get what you want.

If you want something faster, though, I suggest that you try another
letter with a lot fewer judgments and a lot more straightforward
descriptions. You might want to either ask the woman you dislike what
her name is or come up with a description that includes her probable
age, her eye color, etc., though, because if I am guessing right based
on your name at the top of your post, you look like a lesbian too.
Sorry.

We all don't like rude employee's however, being insulting and
derogatory (saying she looked like a Lesbian) weakens your argument in
the most severe ways. Honestly, I saw that in the beginning of your
complaint and I was immediately turned off as to what you had to say.

does a lesbian look like?

I never knew lesbians had a certain "look" to them. Always just
thought it was some sort of scent that only other lesbians could pick
up on.

Why are we so hung up on the fact that the OP said the clerk looked
like a lesbian?
Directly from the letter;
"sorry to describe her in that way"
Maybe this lady was extremely butchy and masculine... Sometimes you
can just tell. We all know it is not a PC way to describe someone, and
the OP seems to acknowledge this.

The complaint is valid though... If the employees are rude, it is
unacceptable.

because saying something rude and then saying "sorry" doesn't really excuse the rudeness by PepperElf Tue August 25, 2009 @ 1:20 AM

Always remember, kids, if you aren't able to identify an employee by
their name tag, the second best way of doing so is by describing
exactly how much they do or don't look like a lesbian.

I read your 'lesbian' comment, and went no further. Totally uncalled
for, and totally unprofessional.

Hopefully the business sees it the same way.

I do too.

You certainly sound upset, but unfortunately I can't tell if the
employees really are rude or if you just have a grudge against this
location for some other reason, especially when you're complaining
about an incident that didn't even involve you personally.

so?

What does her perceived sexual preference have to do with her service
quality?

As for the other customer, the coupon might be expired or for
something entirely different than what she was purchasing. Since it
was not your coupon, you can't be sure the other customer wasn't
trying to scam them over.

So telling them no, even if it's not the answer the customer wants, is
not rude service.
