Misleading Promotion resulting in higher than normal prices

Three weeks ago, I bought my son a pair of men's Levi's 514s, which were priced at $39. This was the normal, everyday Kohl's price to which I applied the Kohl's card 15% discount. Today, I went to Kohl's to buy myself the same Levi's 514 jeans. The sign announced a buy 1 at original price get 1 at 1/2 off sale. When I went to the register, the first pair rang up at $58 and the second pair was $29, which comes to an average of close to $44 per pair. This is more than your everyday price. What happened to the sale? It is misleading to advertise a promotion that results in a higher cost than the regular price. You cost me gas and time of making the trip to Kohl's for the jeans.
Kohl's should clean up it's promotions practice and, if you're going to offer a sale, make it a real sale off your regular pricing and not the much higher pricing that you never charge in the store except when running misleading promotions. Also, to make up for my wasted time and expense of going to the store, you should send me a 30% off coupon like I sometimes get in the mail as well as $10 Kohl's cash. And then I should be allowed to use it to purchase the Levi's I wanted at the less expensive price and not your false sale price.
