Paint pricing

I went to lowe's to get a high quality paint for my kitchen an expected to pay little more then discount store brand price. What I DID NOT EXPECT was that the gallon wouldn't do the whole room! And that when I went back to get enough to finish the room I just needed a quart (1/4) of a gallon and had to pay the price it would have or should have cost for 1/2 a gallon! Has Lowe's not heard that we are in a recession!

I would like to know that I don't have to pay for something I am NOT getting! About 6.50$ back would be satisfying!

I know in the grocery business, which I am acclimated to, the smaller
cans of corn, often times cost only pennies less than the larger 16 oz
cans.

Its usually a good thing to determine how much paint you need by
measuring, then always get extra, you will need it for touch ups.

The state of the economy does not preclude businesses from making a
profit. The more you buy, the bigger discount. That is why Sams and
Costco are so popular, often times, people buy the big industrial size
box of cheerios thinking they are saving money, when they throw away
more than half of it.

Good Day

Did you do the math on square footage?

How in the world is it Lowe's fault that your kitchen was too big to
be painted using only one gallon of paint?

Diana,

I just finished using Lowe's to supply paint for the interior of a
house I just painted.

Prior to my arrival at Lowe's I knew the square footage that needed to
be covered and how many coats I would need.

Loaded with that information I proceeded to look at the 4 or 5 brands
of paint they offer matching up how it is packaged with the color
closest to my needs.

Their Valspar Brand is available in quarts as well as gallons but some
of their other brands are not.

To get a high quality brand as you want to "pay little more then
discount store brand price" I think they have done a good job of
offering some good options if like in any project you do your homework
and weigh your options.

Stop back when you hear from Lowe's.

I must also wonder if you feel this strongly about the matter what did
the Store Manager say when you brought this up with him or her?

BillR.
