Poor Service

Posted Thu May 24, 2012 3:34 pm, by Anthony W. written to Lufthansa German Airlines

Write a Letter to this Company

I am writing today to inform you of several events that occurred on my recent flight from Munich to Boston.

I really don't know where to being with the debacle as I really expected more from your airline.

Everything seemed to be going well until the dinner service. The first step downward was when I discovered there were bits of porcelain in my pasta. I discovered that my dish was broken and immediately notified the flight attendant. She immediately apologized as I would have expected. She then informed the Purser. The Purser first tried to rectify the problem with a voucher for airline miles in your airline's frequent flyer program. Unfortunately, I am not a member of your program. I am a US Airways Chairman's Preferred member and was flying Lufthansa as a Star Alliance member.

She then offered me a voucher for the airplane's duty free catalog. After 30 minutes, she returned with more disappointing news. She did not have any vouchers. Finally, she offered me a mediocre bottle of Champagne.

Fast forward to the coffee/dessert service. I was completely ignored by the service team. When the team came to my row, they spent their entire time talking/flirting with the 2 German gentlemen in seats 6H & 6K. They never turned/talked to me again the entire flight. Never offered me coffee, dessert or the complementary chocolates. They didn't offer to take my garbage. It was like I was non-existent. After waiting for 15 minutes, I finally got up and took care of my own trash.

I am just shocked and appalled at the lack of service your airline offered on this flight. I would have expected more from such a highly esteemed company and quite frankly, expected more for a business class fare of over $6K. Please acknowledge receipt of this letter.

Regards,

Anthony Walker
Seat 6G

I would like a partial refund in the amount of $1000.

so they made amends with a free bottle of booze to make up for the
meal

then you chose not to ask them why you didn't get your dessert.

i don't see why this is worth 1000.
was the chocolate made with gold flakes in it?

Did you really pay $6000 for a seat on an airline? I am aghast! I did
not know it was so costly to fly. By the way, I very rarely fly,
prefer to drive, or take a train.

All the airplanes I have been on have the little buttons that I can
push if I need to get the FA's attention. I simply push it, a light
goes on and they show up. I ask them for whatever I need, and they
help me out.

Guess the Lufthansa airplanes must be really old not to have those
buttons.

And I have to say... if not getting chocolate at the end of the meal is the worst of it... by The Original Nethead Thu May 24, 2012 @ 6:10 PM

I'm sorry but while you did experience some poor service with the lack
of dessert it really does not equate to $1000. It's a shame they
didn't have the voucher but they did the best they could do,
champagne, for the dinner problem. The lack of dessert might be worth
a small refund but not $1000. After all, you did get from point A to
point B safely.
