Credit Limit REDUCTION, pymt 1 day late due to being in hospital having my son!

Here's the problem I am having with Macys. I love Macys and like most spend lots of money there. I was 1 day late making my pymt, it was due on the 2nd I paid on the 3rd online. The reason it was late was bc I was in the hospital having a baby. This is my 2nd letter bc I never got a response to my first. As in my 1st letter I can even provide hospital discharge papers. I am never late I usually pay the card off in full or a large amount of any balance I have. Because it was 1 day late I made a pymt on checkfree.com and on the macys site. My credit limit was lowered by $600. I am requesting that my credit line be restored at it's former credit line, or I will pay off my balance which is only $65 and close my account.

I would like Macy's to restore my credit limit to what it was before my 1 day late pymt. As I previously stated, I would be more than happy if necessary to provide documentation to prove I was in the hospital having my son. I would like to continue shopping at macy's but if this is how they treat people, who have never been late, don't ever go over my credit limit and always pay in full or a large portion of their balance, then perhaps I don't want to do business with MACY'S any longer. Thank you for time, and I hope to continue being a long standing Macy's shopper!

Credit card companies are a bunch of snakes, they dont care about your
family or children. You chose to do business with them and signed up
for their rules. When you break their rules, they win.

My advice is to cancel all of your credit cards and live on what you
earn. If you cant pay cash for it, you dont buy it. It seems simple,
and easy, and it really is.

There is no such thing as good debt. I read an article on msnbc about
it. Debt equals risk, which is entirely what you have (had) with
Macys. You had a debt, you took a risk assuming you would never pay
late, which most people do assume foolishly. When you were late you
want Macys to help you out.

Paid off homes cannot be foreclosed or paid for cars cannot be
repossessed by a bank for late payments! Yes I know that is obvious,
but when you carry debt around your neck you are taking a risk.

Even the good book says the borrower is slave to the lender.

Cancel the card and all cards, and let this ding be a lesson, it is a
small price to pay.

Good Day

Congratulations on the birth of your son. That's wonderful.

What isn't wonderful is paying credit cards late, for whatever reason.
I don't think the bank will care what that reason is, unless it is a
national disaster. Banks in the current economic climate are taking
actions such as this very quickly when customers make a mistep. Good
luck though.

Congratulations on your newborn...hope things are going well.

I guess I would be a bit upset also if they did this to me, but if you
look at the news lately most credit card companies are lowering
peoples credit limit even if they are not late on their payments.
In the financial world late is late no matter what.

Please let us know if you receive a response from them. I would be
interested in seeing if they are going to enforce this or give you a
break.
