My wife (Melissa Jennings) called on 9/15/2009 to let Macy's know we had inadvertently made a double payment.
We made a $2,000 payment on 9/9/2009 through our bank's website and inadvertently made a second payment in the same amount on 9/10/2009.
Two $2,000 payments were made. This put a huge dent in our checking
account - imagine $4,000 taken in 2 days!!
After realizing the two payments had gone through on 9/15/2009, after an approximate 30-minute call, the representative my wife was speaking to put her on hold for many minutes to receive a supervisors approval for a refund of the accidental second payment in the amount of $2,000. My wife was told that we would receive a check back within 3-4 weeks.
A week later we received a typed letter via snail-mail that said Macy's needed proof from
our bank that these two payments had been made. This is a little strange since Macy's has already posted the two payments. Nonetheless, my wife and I called Macy's last week (on 9/29/2009) and, immediately after our call, faxed you proof that the payments had been generated from our bank account (fax number we were given was 513-573-2073). The gentleman we spoke to told my wife the account would be updated with notes in 2-3 days.
Yesterday I submitted an email online with the exact facts stated above. I received a response from Ryan that our fax has not yet been received, and that we would have to wait yet another 7-10 busienss days for the notes to be updated.
This feels like a game. We made a mistake and it's costing us. $2000 isn't a little sum of money to a lot of people, including my family.
Can I get the name of a supervisor who will help me resolve this more quickly?
