poor quality of womens clothing items

I have bought 2 shirts with the Style and Co. label from Macys. After 2-3 washes, both of these shirts are falling apart. I might not be so annoyed if these were items I only wore every now and again but they are major pieces of my wardrobe.
Where is the quality control of the items they bring into the store? Now that I have had the items for a couple of months or so, I need to bring them somewhere for mending. This is ridiculous considering the prices at Macys. I personally expect better quality from a store like this.
I would like a gift card from them to replace the items that are junk. I think the total that I spent on those items was around $50.00.

If this website has taught me ANYTHING, its taught me to keep my reciepts somewhere safe. No need to even organize them, I just keep them in a file in my file cabinet. That way, I'm only a few feet away from having an exact date/time/price for EVERYTHING. It's a CYA thing. It takes minutes to do, even if you just find some old plastic tuppaware to keep them in or something.
Sorry, I'm not trying to lecture you. It's just something I found to be extremely helpful.
I agree that something from MACY's should last longer then 2-3 washes. It might help though if you included product name and number - that way they could look into that line of product and they could be more specific as far as improvements go.

The time to get your money back is immediately, not months later. Also, a receipt will get you further than a guess of the price.

Dismissing them as "junk" and requesting "$50" gift certificates as a remedy because you "think" the total paid was "around" $50.00 seems a bit excessive. Does the store have a return policy? If they were junk, then the return policy that was in place is about the only remedy we could expect.
If a product endures beyond our expectations, do we send the companies "thank you" gift cards at full value for not having to replace the items?

How can they be major pieces of your warddrobe if you've washed them 2-3 times (which indicates that you've worn them 2-3 times)? And $25 for a new shirt (you indicate that the total for both was $50) isn't really worth complaining about the prices at that store.
I also wonder what the care labels for the shirts say. Handwash? Delicate cycle? Dry clean only?

Have you visited a store about this? I can't imagine them just sending you gift card. They will need the clothing and your receipt to verify the claim.
