REPLACEMENT PARTS

Posted Wed June 1, 2011 4:16 pm, by RENEE S. written to Maui Jim Sunglasses

Write a Letter to this Company

I HAVE FIVE PAIRS OF MAUI JIM 147-10 SUNGLASSES. THE SCREWS KEEP FALLING OUT OF THE ARMS. THE ONLY OPTION FOR REPAIR IS TO TAKE THEM TO A DEALER 2 1/2 HOURS AWAY OR PACK THEM UP AND SHIP THEM IN TO HAVE THE SCREW PUT BACK IN. I HAVE ASKED REPEATEDLY TO BE ABLE TO BUY A DOZEN OF THE SCREWS SO THAT I CAN DO IT MYSELF. LAST TIME I WENT TO THE DEALER, THEY DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT SCREWS. I SENT THE LAST PAIR IN AND HAD TO PAY SHIPPING JUST TO HAVE A SCREW PUT IN. YOUR COMPANY SHOULD ALLOW PEOPLE TO BUY THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR GLASSES THEY OWN.tonasket3@ncidata.com

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE SCREWS FOR THE ARMS. I AM NOT ASKING FOR THEM FOR FREE. I WILL PAY SHIPPING AND PRODUCT PRICE.

Another option after that, since they keep falling out, is once you
have the screws in, put a few drops of clear fingernail polish on the
screw heads. This should keep the screws from coming loose.

You can try a local optical shop. They often carry screws in a
variety of sizes, as well as the tools to install them. We've had
good luck with LensCrafters--and we've always walked in with cash in
hand, so we don't look like we're getting something for free.
