My Maytag Stackable Gas Washer/Dryer just died from a well known cause. The circuit board and motor that drives the Washer is defective. Now I find out that a class action suit covering this problem has expired. Cost to me is $500.

Cost to Maytag for a $2000 appliance, Nuthin. Because the Class Action suit claim time has expired and I was unaware of it, Maytag will do absolutely nothing. No more Maytag for me. I've always been a promoter of this company, but never again

I know it sucks, but on the plus side, you got 4 to 11 years of use
from your stackables. There are lots of applicances that don't last
that long.

You should have received class action paperwork if you were a
registered owner. Did you send in the warranty card when you bought
this $2000 appliance? If so, I'm not sure if you have recourse or not
if the monies have been paid out.

Here is the website with all the information on the class action
lawsuit, including contacts:

Maytag won't do anything beyond what was agreed to in this settlement.
The crux of the problem is why you weren't included in the class.

Did you will out the warranty card and register the Washer/Dryer. If
not Maytag would have no way to know how to contact you and for that
matter who purchased the products.

If you did register, you need to find out from the attorneys why you
weren't notified.
