Bad washer and dishwasher

My husband and I bought a new maytag washing machine and dishwasher. We have only had them for a couple of years and have had constant problems with both. The dushwasher handle has broke off twice and now it will not do anything at all. There is a light on and it will not wash at all. The washing machine has had to have a brake put on it and we had only had it for about a year at that time. Now it is messing up again. We bought Maytag and spent the extra money because we didnt want any problems but that seems to be all we have had. It cost 250 dollars just to have the brake replaced and the dishwasher was just about the much and it has had to be repaired twice and now it has to be repaired again. We are told that there is no warranty on Maytag, we have had to pay as much in repairs as we did to buy both the dishwasher and washing machine. It upsets me that I thought I was buying qaulity and it ended up that I got two big problems.
I would like to see some type of warranty on Maytag equipment. When I bought my Maytag appliances I bought them with the thought that they were the "best" you could get. That hasnt been true at this point. I would like something to be done about this.

My Maytag washer was a disaster, so I know what you mean, but it did come with a one year warranty. If you want a longer one, you have to purchase it separately. Certainly you knew that when you purchased the appliances. Also, Maytag appliances are not any more expensive than the other brands, so I'm not sure what you mean about spending more for a Maytag.
You might as well get used to the fact that appliances are not built the way they used to be. It doesn't matter what brand you buy. They're all the same.

Do you have a suggestion? You don't mean that Maytag add a warranty to your existing appliances, do you? They don't do that. You may have had an opportunity when you bought the machines to (buy) get an extended warranty, but it is too late now. These machines came with a warranty, it is just expired.
A lot of appliances have a one year warranty on parts and labor, and maybe longer on the major parts. If you are out of warranty there isn't much that can be done other than pay for the repair or buy a new one.
I'm sorry you ended up with two lemons. Unless there is a widespread problem on either of these two items I'm afraid you are out of luck.

Evelyn,
You state that Maytag has No Warranty.
In looking at several sites it appears that their equipment is covered by a One Year Warranty. On top of that there are 3 and 5 year Extended Warranties available.
