MBNA Misinformation / Malpractice

I'm writing to alert you to a problem I've had with a loan program issued by you. My problem concerns overall experience. I hope by bringing this to your attention, the problem will be addressed. This incident has made me extremely upset.

Here's what happened: I recieved a promotional invitation for a $50K credit line via the National Association of Doctors. I applied and was denied, as I was told that I had too much revolving debt - most of which is residential income real estate but the 1st mortgages are revolving lines. The representative stated that if I paid down some of the debt the application would be approved. The purpose of this loan was business expansion.

In an effort to improve my credit and simultaneously obtain the financing I needed, I paid off $105K in revolving debt. Once my credit reports were updated I contacted MBNA again. At this time they were surprised, and asked how I paid off the debt (which was really none of their business), then told me this application would be again denied because I have been late a few times in the last year on my MBNA credit card. Not late as in 30 days, but late as in payment was recieved between 1 and 5 days past the payment due date.

I explained that I travel frequently for my employment, and that as they could clearly see the last several months have been paid early as I now use their online payment services. Still denied. I spoke to a manager who was less than "customer service" oriented, and was denied again.

Attempts to speak with the original agent who stated the application would be approved, Mr. Donnie Olokun, have been unanswered, despite the promise of the manager to have him contact me.

Here's what I want you to do: Open the account as promised.

If this is not addressed, in the future I will definitely avoid doing business with you. And I MOST definitely won't recommend you to others.

I appreciate your taking the time to listen to my complaint. I hope it can be addressed promptly.

Why do you want them to open the account if you're going to avoid
doing business with them?
