McDonalds hires sex offenders!

I am furious that you hired registered sex offenders. I went to several websites on the Internet such as FoxNews.com, parentsforchildsafety.org, and several others and learned that while you claim it is your police you do not hire sex offenders, you do anyway. You hired a sex offender in Boston to work at one of your restaurants and i am glad you fired him after a customer complained but you still have several other sex offenders working in your kid-friendly restaurants where kids visit. This is sad. One registered sex employee at one of your Tennessee restaurants even sexually assaulted a 3 year old boy in the restroom.

Stop hiring registered sex offenders! They belong in prison, not in your kid-friendly restaurants!

I don't think that you thought what you have written all the way
through. i am married to a sex offender. He has never touched a child
before. He was put on that list because a 7 year old girl told him she
was 18. They dated for about 4 weeks and her mom found out that he was
20. She has him arrested and thrown in jail for something that he had
no clue about. I understand when it comes to people raping children,
trust me I do. I have two small children of my own, but not sex
offenders are the same and should not be treated the same. My husband
is in trouble for statutory rape. which means that she consented to
sex with him, but lied about her age. I believe that McDonalds should
hire those felons that show they have learned from their mistakes. My
haband has two kids to feed. And its not as easy for him to find a job
like it is you. I am almost 100% sure that everyone in this world is
guilty of statutory rape they just havn't been caught!

You know its people like you that make me hate my life. I am a sex
offender. I was in a consensual relationship. I was 18 and my
girlfriend was 15. Now I am a sex offender. I cant get a job anywhere.
The fact is i was in love with my girlfriend. I didnt pray on her or
anything like that. We meant in highschool and fell inlove. So does
that mean I should be in jail for the rest of my life? This is whats
wrong with the country. The public has a mis perception of a sex
offender. Granted there are the serial rapist out there, but the fact
is, thats not everyone who is a sex offender. Say a teenage girl gets
drunk at a party and her and her friends go streaking down the street.
Yeah in terms of the law and the prosecutor decision that girl can
become a sex offender. So please when you hear of a sex offender get
the facts of their case. Don't just blanket all sex offenders as one
certain type.

ok, over reacting people! while i DO NOT condone child molestors in
any way, shape, or form, being a registered sex offender DOES NOT
ALWAYS EQUAL CHILD MOLESTOR!!! for soliciting a prostitute, you must
register as a sex offender! depending on a states law, having sex with
a 17 yr old and getting caught means having to register as a sex
offender! and unfortunately, those websites you people put so much
stock into usually do not differentiate between charges, just giving
an overview of whos registered, whos not! so before you shun EVERY
SINGLE PERSON who is registered as a sex offender, and run them out of
your town, it would be helpful if you would at least consider, maybe
for just a moment, that they might potentially NOT be a child
molestor. and in all honesty people, what the hell do you think is
going to happen at a McDonalds? unless you send your child in their
ALONE, which is stupid in it's own right, what exactly do you think is
going to happen? the guy making the fries in the back is going to jump
over the counter, grab your child, and whisk them away to the
bathroom? Again, I DO NOT CONDONE CHILD MOLESTORS!!!!!!! but i dont
have a vendetta against a person who solicited a prostitute, or some
poor 18 or 19yr old kid who got caught boinking his 17yr old
girlfriend, and it really makes me angry to see people assuming that
every person who is a registered sex offender is automatically a child
molestor. get your facts straight people, before you form a mob and
run people out of town!

If I had children, by Mike H. Tue October 14, 2008 @ 12:50 AM

This subject is very sensitive to me and thats as much of that that I
will go into.

But I am sorry. Sex offenders do not belong on this earth, let alone
in a food chain that attracts children by the millions. It is insane.
Sex offenders will not stop what they have done. Its like opening a
buffet for a 400 pound person and telling them there is no limit to
the amount of food they are allowed to eat. You are giving these
people a chance to hurt someone again and its awful that McDonald's
would allow something like this.

I think McDonald's needs to be a more active in the people they hire
for the stores. Sex offenders to not belong in McDonals's by any
means.

Actually, I'm torn in half about the issue of convicted sex offenders
being hired. I would like convicted sex offenders to work so that they
would stay out of trouble but I don't like them working in places
where there are kids such as stores, fast food places, and schools. I
still think that rapists and child molesters should get life in prison
without parole.

Not ALL so called convicted sex offenders are GUILTY by William B. Wed September 3, 2008 @ 12:11 PM

by Vampirefreak Posted Sat August 30, 2008 @ 2:08 PM

even if they messed up before and you need to find out what caused
them to be a convicted sex offender before you say they aren't safe to
be around kids. Now that doesn't mean leave your kid alone with them,
it means be smart about it and don't accuse them of trying to do
something just because they have a lable that could mean almost
anything happened. Did you know that if you are having sex with
another consenting adult and a child (as in anyone under the age of 18
or 17 depending on the laws in that area) sees you then you can become
a registered sex offender? Did you know that 20 years ago if a child
said you molested them that was basicly all the proof they needed to
send you to prision for 15-20 years as a convicted sex offender
(meaning you would probably just now be getting out) and that even if
that child went back years later and said he or she lied you would
still have to serve your time and keep that lable?

No one (outside of their own parents or a "trusted" caregiver) would
ever have a chance to assault a child if the child were properly
supervised at all times.

And I will echo what another poster wrote - sex offender does not
always equal pedophile. There are many people who are labled as "sex
offenders" who either were involved in consensual acts but at the
wrong place at the wrong time, or for whatever reason got caught
exposed in public for a perfectly innocent, non-lewd reason.

Depends on the age of the child. by Jeffrey/Branding/Alex Sun August 31, 2008 @ 10:17 PM
by Cor H. Posted Thu August 28, 2008 @ 8:06 PM

We should always watch our children in public places, regardless of
whether or not we are at McDonald's. As long as our children are kept
within sight in the restaurant, it doesn't matter what the history of
the employees are.

A sex offender can just as easily walk into a restaurant as a
customer.

You make a few mistakes here ... let's see:

1. Not all sex offenders are paedophiles.

2. Once a person has served out their sentence, isn't their debt to
society paid?

Don't like #2? Change the law. Otherwise, you just want them to not
get a job and turn to a life of crime.

While you're looking into changing the law (I'm sure you won't) ...
look into how many crimes are considered "sex crimes" these days ...
and consider that someone convicted for public urination is now
considered a sex offender.

Sex offenders are the most disgusting people on this earth, especially
crimes towards children...just simply an opinion. Wanted to make that
clear before my posting.
The blame should solely be put on our justice system and lawmakers.
There are only two things that can be done after a sex offender gets
convicted.

1) Send them to jail for the rest of their life, with no way to ever
get out.
2)Send them to jail for a temporary amount of time and release them or
use a lesser form of punishment.

When a sex offender completes their sentence...they are released to a
world where children are everywhere. They need to shop for groceries,
there are children around. They need to go to doctors appointments,
walk their children to the bus stop, again there are children around.
Most importantly, they need to get a job and make a living. What do
you expect them to do?
Think about it this way, a lot of these people turn to prostitution,
selling drugs, robbing banks, stealing, and other crimes because they
have no other way to make money since nobody will hire them.
As much as it sucks, sex offenders deserves to live just like
everybody else when their sentence is completed. At the same time,
their information is displayed on the internet and what neighborhoods
they live in.
Again, blame our lenient justice system for letting them walk the
streets and not jailing them for life and throwing away the key.

It is really easy to get on the sex offender list- indecent exposure
(flashing, urinating in public) and "Rape", where the "Sex Offender"
has consensual intercourse with a partner who is a minor. Or the
spanking case mentioned above. Many, many, many of the offenders on
the list are pretty much harmless. If they were a threat to society,
the would most likely be incarcerated.

Personally, I looked at the "MI PSOR" (Michigan Public Sex Offender
Registry) last night and searched for my county. I saw three people
that I work with at a local restaurant on that list- complete with
name and picture. I would have never known that these people were sex
offenders- they are perfectly friendly people that work for minimum
wage...

Sex offender can be a horrible title to receive, but it does not mean
that these people are going to go into the PlayPlace and molest your
children. It would look suspicious for an employee to be hanging
around doing such things. Any sex offender from anywhere in the
country- or one that has not even been caught- could victimize your
child at any time, even when they are not at McDonald's.

There was a case around here with two 12 year old BOYS were messing
around in school and spanked a couple of girls. (they did it to boys
too, but that was forgotten in the news after the first day) It was a
game they played. Well, the got busted (The school, parents and
prosecutors went WAY to for IMHO) and part of their Plea bargain they
had to register as sex offenders. THEY ARE 12 YEARS OLD! So are you
telling me that they need to be locked up for the rest of their lives
and never be able to work? So you want to burden the over taxed jail
system for a couple of boys that were just goofing off? I have looked
at those sites. I have found that they are NOT accurate (One showed
MY house as a CURRENT offender lives there. Um.. NO!) And who's to
say that, oh lets say ANYONE your kid comes in contact with is a
pedophile. They may not have gotten CAUGHT yet. You don't know. No
one does. I don't know if everyone my son comes in contact with
hasn't done something, just not been caught.

Think of it this way, as least when they are working they are paying
taxes (I'm assuming) and not living off of my hard earned money that I
get taxed going into the jail.

What about once they're released from prison? Should they not be
employed? Then they'd have to resort to *other* crimes in order to
feed themselves.

The fact is, lots of people are "registered sex offenders" when they
really pose no danger to anyone, especially children. Some young
adults (age 20, 21) have been successfully prosecuted for sex crimes
because they happened to be dating (and having sex wiih) "minors"
(older teens, ages 16, 17). These young people will have to carry
this burden around for life, because of a ridiculous system of laws
and overly aggressive prosecutors who pander to certain constituents.

I have no problem with criminals/former prisoners working at places at
McDonald's. In the case of registered sex offenders, I don't think
they should be given the job of, say, cleaning the bathroom because
that could give an opportunity to be alone with a child, but I
otherwise am fine with former convicts getting jobs and doing what
they can to fix their damaged lives.
