Waste of time, gas, and money

Ordered 2 double filet-o-fish sandwich combos, 1 hamburger, 1 regular fillet-o-fish, 1 small french fry at the drive-thru. Got home, everything there but the REGULAR FILET-O-FISH sandwich. At almost $4.00 a gallon for gas & $18 for all the food, I'm not going to drive back to McDonalds's which is over a 1 1/2 miles from my house, how irritating. You failed again.

Shape up!!!!

Geeeeeeeeeesh, what an uproar..........the ONE time I don't check my
bag and I posted my opinion........(which wasn't as scathing as others
I've read in the past!)..........Geeeeeeeeeeeesch

All the groceries at your local grocery store that are rang up every
day................very few mistakes there (items left out,
double-charged, etc. from my experience). Way more items than McD's
sells in one day..........

If you order via the drive, it doesn't hurt to take a few minutes to
check your order to make sure you received what you order. If you
didnt, it is easier to correct when you are still at the restaurant.

If you don't trust the drive thru process, then park your car and go
in to the restaurant and place your order.

Yes orders should be correct when you get them, but until you can
trust the restaurant, you have to put up with the inconvenience.

So it was a mistake. The reader honestly should have checked the bag
but she didn't. When this happens you can call into the restaurant
and tell them what happened. Usually they will put you on a list and
you can get a replacement item the next time that you're in so it
doesn't inconvenience you.

I'm not meaning to sound arrogant here, but does anyone else find it
kind of funny and ironic that the customer, who is complaining about
McDonald's is saying that THEY need to "shape up!" Sorry, couldn't
resist!

I too have had this happen. I now check every single item they give
me before I drive off. In fact I do this at every drive thru. Sadly
it's come down to the customer being forced into doing this if they
want to take home the right order.

I occasionally go to McDs. One by my house, one by where I work. The
one by my house, I have to check everything before I leave (and I
NEVER use their drive through). The one by work, I never have to
check anything, I use the drive through, and everything's always hot,
fresh, and as good as you're gonna get at McDs.

It all comes down to the management and the kind of training they do
and the ship they run.

I've found that it's pointless to expect anything from employees when
their managers don't expect much. Otherwise, head, meet brick wall.

I get your frustration. I"ve just given up, long ago. By the way,
the McDs by my house? I think I go there about once every 3-4 months,
just an occasional breakfast in a real crisis (hungry, hungover, and
no food).

Management! good point! by knan74 Mon April 25, 2011 @ 10:01 PM

ordered a Quarter Pounder NO CHEESE. The burger was even tagged with
the grill slip - NO CHEESE.

What do you think was on it? CHEESE! GRRRRRR!

But the beauty part is that I can call and tell them they got it wrong
and I was on my lunch and can't go back to get it. Guess what, I now
have free lunch waiting for me on another day. Not ideal because I
didn't want cheese, but hey - I can kind of look at it like a Buy One
Get One deal! LOL!

In honesty, with cheap, quick food, I don't expect much. I mean, it's
not Chez Paul! I know I'm in the minority here, but there are far
more important issues to be upset over other than McDonald's screwing
up my order AGAIN.

If I don't expect anything and don't get anything, no loss, right?

I get so irritated when drive-through orders are wrong. A good friend
used to manage a fast-food place, and her employees complained about
people taking time to check their orders before driving off. Her
response was "If we got them right all the time, they wouldn't have
to".

So, I always check even though I shouldn't have to.

I'd call the manager when this happens. Yeah, it won't get you your
food, but sometimes they'll make a note of it and you can get one next
time. It also tells them there is problem, when it happened(or close
to it)

Yes the order should have been correct but mistakes do happen. However
it never hurts to do a quick check once they hand you the food,
especially if this store does have a habit of making mistakes. Likely
some will say you should not have to do this but if you choose to used
this store and do not you will be the hungrey one.

Hey, everyone makes mistakes. And mistakes. And mistakes. And
mistakes. You, as the lowly customer, just have to put up with it.

Don't worry, I'm sure they had a team meeting later on to correct
this.
