McDonald's in Perinton NY not honoring menu prices

**********The letter writer has provided a picture of the menu board.**********

After stopping by and purchasing food at McDonald's in Perinton NY I noticed on the menu (and have the picture to prove it) that under the Value Meals listed was a great deal. The 2 Cheeseburger meal said 99 cents 2 Sandwiches and underneath that was the price of the meal which includes the drink and fries.

I asked the cashier if I could order that deal for 99 cents and she said it was only for 1 burger. I said it states on the menu it is for 2. It says so in plain English. She asked another person (supervisor I assume) and she said it was not for 2. Instead of taking the time to read the sign and just let me get the deal that was listed she insisted on arguing with me. She was rude and tried telling me she cannot alter anything even though it's been done before for coupons and things that any manager can do. She would not let me talk to her superior either and just ended the chat and walked away rudely.

You really are going to lose a customer over 99 cents? On a deal that was written on the menu in plain English? I didn't try to take advantage and order 50 burgers. I only wanted what was listed. 2 cheeseburgers for 99 cents, as the sign said.

The supervisor had no name tag on but I have pictures of both her and the menu.

Well I walked out without the deal that was posted. You shouldn't post things and tell customers they are not allowed to order them.

I also think you should do something about the rude employee you have at this location. I can send more info to the franchise owner if he so desires.

It may not seem like a big deal to some, but you should honor your own menu and not belittle paying customers.

As far as I'm concerned -- Mickey Dee's can go out of business. The
meat in both their hamburgers and cheeseburgers is disgusting. I gave
up patronizing their establishments several years ago. Anytime I ate
there (in several restaurants in several states) I always had bones in
my hamburgers. Hey folks, do yourselves a favor and either cook at
home, or find a "GREEK" diner someplace where those folks take pride
in what they serve their customers.

This mistake in pricing is not covered by false advertisement law.
You were in the store and its clear this was a mistake. They were
doing absolutely nothing illegle by quoting you the actual price and
disreguarding the false price. Its a myth that if a company makes a
mistake like this they have to honor it. False advertising is when
companies purposely make claims to gain your business while misleading
you to do so. Like if mcdonalds said "SPECIAL TODAY! BUY 2
cheeseburgers for only 1.98" and cheeseburgers are only. 99 to begin
with......this would be a form of false advertising.

Interpret the sign however you like Ė 2 for .99 Ė 10 for $1 or
whatever. If they tell you itís 1 for .99 then itís 1 for .99. Donít
like it? Please pull forward. Good Night.

if that price is not correct, the sign needs to change or be removed, bottom line. by Store Manager Chad Sun July 14, 2013 @ 4:15 PM

It is very difficult to make out the information on the sign including
the prices.

It was probably a mistake thats the cashier didnt know about.

While they should have given it to you at that price (then fixed it),
if there was no manager then the cashier cant alter prices.

I recall a similar situation I had at McD's. I pointed out that the
price on the drive thru board was different, less than what they
charged me. It was attributed to price changes. I felt by 2 in the
afternoon it should have been done already. I had to forgo my order,
as I didn't have enough money.I don't have to worry about this any
more, as I don't eat at McD's - for more than 10 years! Never looked
back.

You are wrong. I went up to the local McD's who have the exact sign
posted, it has .99 each...Very clear the value meal states 2
Cb/fries/drink for $2.99 at this local. It is a meal combo, you cannot
get part of the meal for part cost. You know that!!
