I am one of your hostages i.e. user of Outlook and Internet Explorer. Everytime an error occurs MS recieves a time consuming report; every night when I shut the computer down it takes forever because MS is installing all the updates -- yet the updates seem to muck things up and make my computer run slower and slower each day!!! You guys don't know how to use your "dominance" I am hopeful that Google "eats your lunch"! You force us to go into all of your "help" encylopedia if we have a question. You do not seem to welcome feedback and never volunteer any real personal help!
How can I restore the links that I use be able to make right out of an email?

just curious what the errors are.

as for the computer being slow...
I recommend looking at the Task Manager - check out what processes are
active.

Then go to http://tinyurl.com/answersthatwork-tasklist to see what
each one is.
there are some that don't actually need to be running, and can slow
your computer down.

and while you're doing that i'd suggest a defrag and ... possibly
consider what antivirus you use too.
not that a virus will directly cause your issue, but sometimes it can
play a factor in a computer being slow

I use Outlook and IE. I don't have updates turned on - I do it
manually once every few months, and it always works smoothly.

It sounds like something isn't right with your computer. Maybe you
can find the help you need on a bulletin board somewhere. There are a
lot of knowledgeable people out here, if you can find them.
