OOPS! COUNTERFEIT WINDOWS PRO 7

Posted Fri July 13, 2012 12:00 pm, by Phyllis D. written to microsoft.com

In 9/15/2010 I brought my HP PC to RM Computer on 2904 Warwick Ave; WArwick, R.I. looked at my PC, and told me that I didn't have any viruses. So he removed my brand new Windows Vista, and installed Windows Pro 7, and said I won't have any problems ever. But in seven months I saw on the lower part of my monitor; which it read counterfeit. I got scared, and I tried to contact , which it took ,e around five months before he came back to his store. In the meantime your company contacted me, and I didn't hear anything from your company. This should be stopped, and those pirates should pay back. If you don't follow through; then you are responsible tto all the customers that bought your software.

I want my computer whole again. and I want Microsoft Co. to go after RM Comuters; 2904 Warwick Ave.; Warwick, R.I. 02889. I need proof that I am running counterfeit windows, and so I can take some action to the police, and sue this person in small claims court. Right now I'm at the library typing this complaint. Please get back to me as soon as possible. What he did is a very serious crime, and he should pay back.

"n the meantime your company contacted me, and I didn't hear anything
from your company."

So his company contacted you but you didn't hear anything from his
company?

How does that work?

And where are you reading "counterfeit"? If this is really a knock
off version it wouldn't just say it on the program. That would be
silly of them to do.

Actually I once had a customer who tried to claim that on us at my old
tech support job. They came back in trying to claim that we installed
a counterfeit version of windows on the computer, and they demanded we
fix it for free.

We sent him away. We *had* worked on his computer, I forget what for
but... we would never install a counterfeit. The tech figured out
that the customer had tried installing his own bootleg and it crapped
out on him. So he tried blaming us for his own work ... and found it
didn't work.

But back to your computer.... if you want to take him to court anyway,
you have every right to pay a lawyer to look at your case.

There's no guarantee it will actually turn into a case but you can
try.

a "very serious crime?" Can you provide the specific statue that's
been violated.

Furthermore, if you have an issue with the vendor, it's up to you to
handle it with them - Microsoft had no part in it, nor is it their job
to litigate your claims for you - small claims court or otherwise.

and MS might not go after the vendor by PepperElf Wed July 25, 2012 @ 2:05 PM
