Painful Experience at Monarch Dental

I came into the office in Denton Texas and had made previous arrangements to pay for the visit with two checks because of the price. They were put in envelopes so that they would be deposited on the dates when the funds would be available, this did not happen, causing checks to bounce.

At the time of the appointment the doctor came in and gave me the exam. I was told that I needed to have a crown because I have a broken tooth. I agreed and we set up the appointment. When the crown was ready I went in to have it installed, the doctor did so without anestesia, stating that it won't take long and that it would'nt hurt. Well it did, that doctor TORTURED me, I wanted the crown, needed it in fact but I would never have willingly subjected myself to so much PAIN. The doctor acted as though he was in a hurry or overworked. This kind of "service" is not acceptable. I still hurt and now am scared to go to any dentist.

I still am experiencing pain, the doctor mentioned that the crown might not fix the problem. I may need a root canal, I am frightened to have it done by Monarch but I am willing to give you another chance. I owe an outstanding balance (because Monarch did not follow instructions regarding depositing the check) I will pay this balance when the root canal is accomplished to my satisfaction (it is possible to satisfy me, I don't want to be tortured)

If you were in that much pain when he crown was being applied, did you
stop the dentist and insist novacain be applied?

I believe the office will want any previous balance paid before
another service is performed. In my previous optical office, we
required at least 50% down on any order. The balance must be paid in
full in order for the customer to walk away.

People used to bargain with us! They would want to take them without
paying in full for glasses "just to see if they work out". Well, with
a 60 day guarantee there is no need for that, pay and then let us
know. People will try all sorts of tricks to get out of paying.

I would say settle with the dentist office then decide if you want
further treatment from them. Ask for anesthesia if the procedure is
going to be done.

They are not your bookkeepers they are your dentists office.

Its up to you to make sure your bill is paid and you should have set
up a payment system with them that would not have put you in the
negative on your account.

Did you ask why they were not giving you any anesthetic for the crown
placement? Having a crown placed without any type of anesthesia is
unwarrented unless you have a health condition that would make it
impossible to receive any.
Youc annot go around with a broken tooth. I would call them and make
good on the check, then ask them about anesthesia and get this
resolved immediately.

You owe an outstanding balance because you wrote checks you couldn't
cover, not because Monarch did anything wrong. And now you're
threatening not to pay at all.

I suggest you get the root canal, if necessary, somewhere else. If
the people at Monarch have any sense at all they will demand that you
pay what you owe and pay for the next treatment, with cash, before
they do anything more for you.

Having dental work done without painkillers is not always pleasant,
but it isn't torture. I hope that you never do undergo torture, but I
also hope you will consider reading a little about it and about people
who have survived it and how they have done it. At the very least you
would be able to go to your root canal appointment armed with some
ideas of how to cope with your own problems.

Well I think that they will refuse further work until your outstanding
balance is paid in full?

It is great that you want to pay with cash on hand, but if needed you
could try putting it on a credit card and paying off as much as you
can when each payment is due.

I do not believe they will do any more work on your teeth if you owe
them money for services already rendered. They might, but don't be
surprised if they start demanding payment be made on bounced checks.

bargain with them. Besides, if you need a root canal do you really
want to annoy Dr. Scrivelllo?
