Genetically Engineered Ingredients from Nabisco

Nabisco's line of foods have been one of my family's favorites; however, after researching the company, I've learned that it is one of the major corporations using GENETICALLY ENGINEERED ingredients - and grains.
They just lost our business entirely. I'd rather purchase an off-brand with less flavor than be a Gunea Pig for the corporations that are putting greed before safety.
They should ALL have to label their products as CONTAINING getically altered grains - but, since they don't, I refuse to purchase any of their products now. Their problem is that they KNOW if they label their products as having genetically engineered ingredients, most people wouldn't volunarily eat the junk!!!!
What I'd really like is that all companies LABEL their foods that contain anything that has been genetically altered. If they truly believe that it is safe for human consumption, they'd be willing to do that. Our Federal government should be forcing all manufacturers to label -- but, they prefer to just do a wait-and-see - using all of us as their testing grounds.

You're eating engineered foods all the time. Most of your store bought vegetables have been altered and improved hybrids of past varieties to prolong shelflife too. Many of your trees and flowers you plant, have too, been genetically engineered.

Newsflash: Basically, you can't avoid genetically engineered foods so long as you're shopping at "mainstream" grocery stores. It isn't just Nabisco, but all the big food companies. GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are problematic for several reasons that I won't go into (google if you're interested).
I suggest you change where you shop (food co-op, Whole Foods, etc.) and buy only organic brands when possible. Support the farmers who are doing right by the planet.

Why just Nabisco? What makes you think off brands don't have them? If they aren't legally bound to divulge the fact, then they aren't doing anything against the law.
You should be writing to your congressmen, the FDA and any other people who will listen if food labels are your beef. You have my support there because there's a lot lacking. What constitutes "organic"? for instance. What hormones and anti biotics and sterioids were used in this beef chicken pork?
Genetic Engineering is nothing new and not necessarily a bad thing.

Farmers have been genetically engineering and / or altering all sorts of plants, and animals since farming and animal husbandry began. Ever hear of cross pollination, or cross breeding? This is how farmers encourage the more desired traits to be produced and the least desired to be eliminated.
