Broken Wheat Thins

I purchased a box of the artisan Vermot cheddar
wheat thins. While I enjoyed the taste and texture of this cracker very much I am unhappy about the condition of the crackers.
I opend the box to find it only half full, yes I understand how products settle in the pakaging
but this seemed extreme. I tasted the first cracker and as I stated above was very pleased with the flavor but as I took more crackers out of the box the more broken up the crackers became.
I would guess that more then 2/3 of the box was
broken, and I don't mean just in half. Most of the crackers were broken in 1/4 or less.

I don't want the company to do any thing except maybe check up on their shippers and /or quality control people. There is no question the product was fresh andd tasty.

I bought a box of these too once; they were too good to buy more. I'd
eat them! However, there was more than the average number of broken
pieces in the box. I think they got the taste right, but the texture
and durability leave something to be desired.

Your case does sound extreme though. I hope they do something. They
may send you a coupon for another box. Just don't eat the whole thing
in two days like I did!

Many, many years ago I had the same issue with Nabisco crackers (I
didn't notice until I was setting up for a wedding shower). I called
the 1-800# to voice my concerns with packaging, transporting or
handling. Two weeks later I had a knock on the door and the young
woman gave me a shopping bag chock full of products! I, like you
hadn't asked for anything. To this day I still regard Nabisco as a
responsible company concerned with customer's issues and address them.
I, to this day, will purchase Nabisco items over anything thing else.
The best.

I can sympathize. I am on Weight watchers and one of my favorite
snacks is 16 Reduced fat wheat thins with a wedge of laughing Cow
light cheese...yummy. But because I only get 16 crackers, I want them
to be intact completely. I end up giving my son all the broken ones
which is usually 1/4 of the box of a family size box. This really
irritates me.

It's too bad that they were so badly destroyed. I have to wonder if
this is an isolated incident, though. Wheat thins tend to be pretty
hearty crackers - moreso than plain old saltines or Ritz - so I'm kind
of shocked that your box was so bad.

Perhaps this specific shipment had a very rough transport or there was
a problem when they were produced at the factory.

Either way, the least they could do to make up for it is to provide
you another box of crackers. It really does impact the enjoyment of
the food when it's not the way it should be (and how do you fit a
chunk of cheese on a 1/4 of a cracker??)

an 800# on the package? You could call and relate your concerns, as
well as have a coupon sent to you for a replacement box.

They are usually very responsive, which makes sense. They need to
keep the customer happy.

Nabisco is KNOWN for broken crackers. My father worked for the
company years ago, and we always used to complain that the crackers
were broken. They don't seem to have this problem with the cookies,
just the crackers. I personally think it's a packaging problem and
not in the shipment process. My father was never able to give us an
explanation, and I have written to Nabisco but never received an
answer.

I haven't tried the Artisan variety yet, but maybe the weight is less
than regular Wheat Thins, and they're putting them in regular Wheat
Thin boxes, making it look more empty than usual.

Marsha C.,

Good feedback.

If you still have the Box /UPC information and lot number hold on to
it should Nabisco contact you.

Next time you are at your grocery store you might tell the store
manager.
