Nextel Smacked Me In The Face

unsatisfied at best

I signed a contract with NEXTEL expecting free calls to other NEXTEL clients like advertised. Nowhere in this contract was there any revelence to there being two separate NEXTEL providers. My last bill was $313.00. Almost all of the calls were to my girlfriend who also has NEXTEL. How is that for a smack in the face?

Deduct my bill to my normal monthly fee which is already $100.00.

Did you also assume you also got every other premium service that
Nextel advertises?

Ever hear the saying, if you assume, you make an ass out of you and
me?

When you were signing this contract, you should have asked something
along the lines of

"So I get free minutes calling other Nextel customers?"

The response might have been

"Only certain plans offer that, of which is not the one that you are
signing up for. Do you want that benefit?"

And then you would have said
"Yes. Sign me up."

Then you wouldn't have assumed, now wouldn't you?

Ryan,

It appears to me that you are jumping the gun on this a little bit.

You state that you "expected free calls to other Nextel clients like
(sic) advertised" however, you never state what IS IN YOUR CONTRACT.

Therefore, the statement ".. being two separate Nextel providers"
makes no sense or difference.

My suggestion would be to contact Nextel by voice first. Get
clarification as to what is in your contract and as to how they
arrived at your billing amount. If there is something different than
what is in your written contract and not what you've assumed, then you
have a valid complaint.

If you are being charged as per your contract, then you need to make
the payment as instructed.
