Posted Fri August 18, 2006 10:58 pm, by Melissa J. written to Nextel Communications

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

My husband left a company for a competetor. They are still using his nextel (FRAUD for financial gain)and (identity thieft)pretending that he works there so they can get business. He called nextel and talked to there fraud dept. they will not do anything to help him and told him that its not his phone and they dont care about the thieft of his identity. They also told him even with a police report there was nothing they could do. He is very upset that his current company has about 1000 more nextels then his old one (they have about 25) and they wont help him. TO ALL ON THIS WEBSITE READING THIS ON PLANETFEEDBACK IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOU IDENTITY DONT USE NEXTEL!!!!I bet they would even help in matters of national security!!!

I WANT NEXTEL TO STOP THEM FROM USING THE NEXTEL FOR FRAUD!!! YOU ARE SUPPORTING IDENTITY THIEFT!!!WE WILL COMPLY AND DO A POLICE REPORT OR WHATEVER TO HELP THE FRAUD NUMBER IS LISTED.

Yes I agree totally. Take a few deep breaths. Now put yourself in the
shoes of anyone reading this letter. No matter what the issue is it's
totally ignored and tossed aside.

Whomever paid your husband owns the phone, any contacts put on that
phone, and any other information on there. The police can't do
anything because what they are doing is not illegal. They simply give
it to the next person to take the job and they move on from there.
Don't want his personal info shared? Don't put personal info on anyone
else's phone or rolodex or hard drive. Responsibility rests purely on
your husband's shoulders.
It's Nextel's intellecual property because they paid your husband to
build this database as and AGENT of their company. Why should they
hand it over to the competitors and make it easier for them to steal?
(which is against the law, and the police would get involved)

Okay...as someone else said:

If the Nextel phone is in his name (information on account is his
and/or bill arrives at your home), then he should be able to shut it
off. In that case, your beef is with Nextel.

If the phone is under the company's name, and they are paying the bill
then Nextel has no reason to shut off that phone. If this is the
case, and the company your husband worked for has another person using
his name and impersonating him then your beef is with the company.

I would suggest that you do some homework and see who you should be
filing a complaint with.

This is a poorly written letter at best.

Either the account is under his name or it isn't. If it isn't his
phone, they are right. He has nothing more to do with it and has no
reason to shut it off.
