My Worst Ever Shopping Experience

I went to the Nordstom department store in Indianapolis at the Fashion Mall last week. I was told I would get exceptional service. I have a disability so it is hard for me to shop anywhere. When I got there I went to the men's fregrance counter and NO help. There was no sales clerk. I went to the men's clothing and No help. There was also no sales clerk. It is hard for me to walk far and to stand very long. I walked to the shoe department, quite a walk for me and 2 men looked like managers were talking with there backs to the store. I said excuse me, could someone help me in men's fregrance. They sent a lady from shoes. She knew nothing about the dept. and had to carry things back and forth to price them at shoes. I walked with her and it was hard on me. She offered me a box to buy that had something spilled all over it. I would not give that to anyone and for the price of the fregrance it was an insult. There was no way for me to look or sample a men's fregrance without help since it was all behind a counter. I left her and went to men's to buy from a list I had made from their on-line site. Again No help, so I just left the store. I called to tell several people at Nordstom and no one wanted to really give me a reason to come back. I will never return.

For what I went through, I feel they should give me a store discount. I feel I was discriminated against.

You were not discriminated against. You just received poor customer
service. I would imagine that would happen to ANY Norstrom customer.

And, no, you do not deserve a discount. If everyone received the same
poor customer service regardless of whether or not they have a
disability, then everyone should get a discount...NOT just you.

I agree with McJohn, no discrimination here just poor service which
can happen anywhere. I have to ask, why did you keep walking back and
forth with her. I have a disability as well and I would have stayed
put and not followed her back and forth.

How were you discriminated against?? Did a healthly person walk into
the mens department and an associate pop up to help?

I have found depending on when you go they dont have people just
standing around, they move people to were the shoppers were. Someone
who wasnt even familer with that department tried to help you. You
should have asked the managers for more help.
