Store Card Denial

I recently applied for a Nordstorm store card. I was asked to fax additional information to verify my identity. I called today and was told, "NO".

I subscribe to serveral internet list groups dealing with credit and credit-related issues. It appears that you extend offers of credit to people who have the same or weaker credit scores than I.

I love your store and shop there often. I make $84,000.00 per year. My Equifax score is 617 with only 6 inquiries (2 from YOU). Please Please give me a little starter card. Let me show you that I'll be a good, no, GREAT customer.

Thank you.

Please, Please, Please issue me a store card with a tiny credit line (maybe 250, 500, etc). I love your store and your customer service. Please let me in the family!

Lance

Why are you so desperate for a Nordstrom's card that you are begging?
With a salary of $84k per year, you could use any card- or pay cash. I
make half that and my credit score is over 800, so your 617 must not
be very good. I think you should hang it up. A credit card is not
worth your dignity and self respect. Save the begging for the
important things.

617 is not a good credit score.

I suggest you e-mail Mr. Helpful and ask him to remove your personal
information (address and phone number). Someone dishonest who reads
this now has your address and income.
