Exchange of a gift item without a receipt

My daughter received a pair of Heelys 'Launch' Athletic Shoes for her birthday that are a size too small. I tried to exchange them for the next size up and your company would not make an exchange without a receipt. They were a gift and the receipt was not included. The tag is still on the shoes, etc. Even K-Mart will make an exchange on an unused item without a receipt. I am furious as the shoes cost $74.95 and my daughter is heartbroken.

Wasnt't Nordstrom the store that was notorious for taking anything and everything back without receipt? However, from what I saw, it looks like they now require a receipt. I realize the shoes were a gift, but could you explain to the giver the size issue and get the receipt from him/her? Reply
