Misleading web site information

We were excited to hear you were opening a new restaurant in Niagara Falls NY. We checked the web site, found the store and naturally assumed it was open. So we packed up, crossed the border and got to the store only to see it doesn't open until September 19! We returned home and I wrote a complaint note on your web site. A fella named Mark from your guest relations dept. wrote back. Seemed to be a form letter; had no opening date and left an incomplete sentence!

We would like some sort of discount coupon. We incurred cost and inconvenience when all that would have been necessary is a banner on your site indicating the actual opening date.

We really miss your stores here in Ontario and visit when we are elsewhere whenever possible. Have frequented teh store near the Walden Galleria in Buffalo as well as your Winnipeg store last summer while on vacation. This entire experience has left us severely disapointed.

Let your fingers do the walking....and a phone call would confirm
things a lot quicker than a drive to somewhere.

I hope you were able to enjoy the city still... I mean there's so much
more to Niagra Falls than that.

I thought Canadians were supposed to be too polite to complain about
anything? ;)

I agree, the website (which I just checked) could easily say something
like "opening this fall" or "Open mid-September." I think they jumped
the gun by getting it on the website before the store was open.

I see what you (and the OP) are saying. The site says "Come in today for lunch or dinner! " by Steve OH (IO) Thu September 8, 2011 @ 9:37 PM

You could have called the store first to ensure it was open. That
would have saved you time and gas.
