Al dente doesn't mean crunchy.

In Saturday June 27th we foolishly decided to give the Bakersfield Olive Garden another chance. We've always been disappointed in the past but it had been years since our previous visit. Wow they've really gone down hill.

They claim to be an Italian food place. It seems they would know how to prepare pasta. Guys, pasta is not supposed to be crunchy. It seems the slop slinger in back doesn't know that. It was obvious that the big kettle of fettuccine was getting low so rather than start a new batch he just added to it. Half the past was done properly and half was crunchy. Yuck!

I've heard of "right sized" portions but good grief. My wife had the apricot chicken breasts. Evidently the "apricot" describes the size of the chicken breast. There's more meat in a hummingbird.

To top off out dining experience we were seated next to a large party that was so loud we could barely place our orders. The waitress could not hear us over the din. When we complained we were basically told "Oh well"

After spending $75 on an appetizer, dinner and desserts we left still hungry.

I think the Olive Garden is ready for the compost heap. Since their track record has been so bad I can not imagine we are the only ones getting lousy food and bad service. Why do people still go there. Move along, nothing to eat here.

such a substandard restaurant chain. I may stop watching his show
because of this.

Olive Garden is a horrible restaurant.
I stopped going there a long time ago. Their food is greasy and
garlicy, and if often overcooked as you describe.

Choose a local restaurant that is owned by someone who cares.

You are correct...Olive Garden is not Italian food...its not even
reasonably similar. And, there are complaints about the service, food
and other issues with Olive Garden...and that is just in PFB...I can
imagine ones directed straight to Olive Garden.

For auhentic Italian food go to a genuine Italian restaurant. Just
about all cities have a few around, especially in or right around the
downtown areas.

Yuk! Undercooked AND overcooked pasta is inedible in my book! Gross.
I'm sorry she shrugged off your complaint. I wish you'd asked for a
manger, or at least called later and spoken with one. I would think
OG would take a little better care of its customers.

I give you extra points for using the word "din."

What happened when you brought this to the managers attention?

I had my awakening - it sounds like you finally had yours.

I could not agree more. I gave up on them a few years ago, and I am
very happy to not include them on the list of places I consider when I
want 1) a good meal OR 2) decent service OR 3) a pleasant experience.
