Complaint!

Write a Letter to this Company

I took 3 boxes of clothes and shoes to Once Upon a child (Edmonton southside) yesterday and they sifted through everything and picked out 10 items for $18.00 - not worth taking the stuff there - as they said that everything else was old and had stains - first of all I washed all the clothes before I brought anything to them and I wouldn't bring stuff with stains that I know that I would want to sell - how embarrassing! and the staff members are so rude!! ugghhhh... I feel like someone just robbed me blind!

I would like a copy of the receipts of all the items that were sold that was not available as I have to request this to head office - talk about a load of crap!

The same thing happened to my husband and I. 3 boxes of barely worn
baby clothes and they paid us $12 for a few items. While we were
waiting for them to finish, we picked out a nice Husker winter coat
(we live in Nebraska) for our son. We looked at it closely, and
discovered the zipper was broken! It really irked us that they were
so picky with our good quality clothes but were trying to sell a
broken item.

actually wouldn't that support the idea of being extra stringent about what you accept for purchases? by PepperElf Wed February 24, 2010 @ 6:53 PM

Its the stores inconsistency..... by Jennifer S Thu February 25, 2010 @ 1:39 AM

Consignment shops take only what they think the can resell at a
profit. You are not entitled to know how much they sell them for. If
you didn't like the price they offered you are well within your rights
to just take your stuff and go.

As Rowdy said, washing clothes does not necessary remove all stains.
If they felt they were too stained to resell, they are not going to
take them.

Just because you have a tag on the item.. by Harleycat Wed February 24, 2010 @ 1:53 PM

It is possible this is what the employees were saying to each other
after you left.

If the used items were not up to their standards, it seems like you
will need to dispose of them elsewhere.

It isn't clear why they would make up reasons (stains) to refuse
accepting items. They could just say you brought too many or that
they don't need them if they didn't want them.

I dont get it? You brought the clothes to a consignement shop and they
didnt want everything. Thats typical, the people who work there know
what will sell and what wont so they have every right to refuse items

Washing clothes does not mean they dont have stains.

Good Day
