Old meat

We spent $88.38 after tip ($78.38 on the bill). My husband ordered the porterhouse, and I ordered the tenderloin and stuffed shrimp combo. We both ordered half pound of crab legs to eat there, and as we usually do, take the rest home and eat later. The crab legs were sort of rubbery, but not bad enough to complain about. We came home watched some tv and warmed up our food, only to find that the tenderloin AND the porterhouse both tasted like very old meat. Needless to say, our dog got a meal that cost us $88. Last year on valentines day I ordered the king crab meal, and the crab was so overdone I never did eat them all. You can keep your free bloomin onion because the only way I will go back to outback again is if its on you. Next time I'm looking for an upscale meal, I'm driving 100 miles to Omaha to visit the Cheesecake Factory. I don't order cheap food when I go to outback, I do not expect to get old, overdone food when I do go there. What a waste of money, and to consider all the hours I worked to afford those horrible meals, I'm done with it since going there seems to be a gamble and I either lose or break even (when and if the food is good). I used to love to go there.
Reimburse me for our meal.

Why did you punish the waiter for this? Sounds to me like you didn't even realize this until after you got home. Was there a problem with the service as well that warranted the sorry tip?
Something smells fishy here, and it ain't the king crab legs.

Outback steakhouse is the mcdonalds of steakhouses. And Cheesecake factory's desserts may be good but the rest of their food is severely lacking, certainly not upscale by any means
Good Day

Do you consider Outback "upscale"? It isn't cheap, but the product is far from upscale.
I tried this establishment on several occasions. On more than half, the experience was disappointing. Often the service was poor, and on a few occasions the food was poorly prepared. I went at non-peak hours when they had time to concentrate on what they were doing, but they didn't.
After spending a lot of time and frustration on restaurants in Outback's class, I have decided to go out less often, spend a little more and get service and food that is much better and predictable. Another option is to go to independently owned restaurants - they typically care a lot more about what they offer. Thus far the plan is working marvelously.
I remember at a young person, the mostly independent restaurants our family vistited had good food the vast majority of the time. I have been shocked at the poor consistency of establishments in the Outback, Texas Road House, Ruby Tuesday's, Applebee's vein. I have found Friday's to be just marginally better. I guess repeat customers don't matter to them, or it is a symptom of corporate ownership. You would do better to go to McDonald's, pay a fraction of the price, and go home and say "wasn't going out nice dear?" At least at McD's, the food is predictable - it always stinks. But you expect and know that going in.
If you left the restautant without trying some food items, and then discarded them, I don't see how you can later expect to get a refund based on your word.
