Raw Chicken

My fiance used to eat at Outback frequently, but not after the experience we had in Garner, NC. Ok I understand that it was a busy Friday night, but it was no excuse for the food we received. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken bites as an appetizer. My fiance bit into one and it was still raw, and partially frozen. We are not people to send food back, but when it comes to our health, we were not about to mess around with raw chicken. So the waitress was very nice and took them back to the kitchen. In the mean time our salads came out and they were fine, then our meals came out. It was not what we had ordered, my fiance had ordered prime rib and I had gotten a petie fillet. We were given 2 sirloins. So the waitress took those back for us. Then the manager came out and gave us our food and was very short with us to us. She said I'm sorry for the mix up but we are busy tonight, and things happen. We said will the steaks we understand but the chicken bite were raw, and she said yea we are fixing new ones for you, that was it. She never applogized and my fiance and I both felt she was accusing us of not having just cause for sending food back.
So as we finish up our meals the chicken bites come out, which by this point after having raw ones my fiance and I didn't really want them and the manager said will y'all ordered them. So we took them home with us, paid and left. The waitress was great and we didn't blame her for anything. I have worked as a waitress before and if something like that would have happened in the restaurant I worked in the chicken bites would have been comped and a free dessert or a % would have been taken off the bill.

I think they need to train their managers to deal with stressful situations and not to be rude to customers. It would have been nice if the manager would have taken the chicken tenders off our bill. I'm sorry eating raw chicken was pretty tramitic for me, and I really didn't want the chicken bites after all of that.

It may not have been fully cooked, but it was not frozen. None of
Outback's chicken, meat or burgers is ever frozen. It is delivered to
the store 2 times a week. If it arrived frozen the kitchen manager
would have refused it.

I would have done the same thing and there is NO WAY I would have paid
for them. Appetizers are to hold you over until your meal comes NOT
Dessert!! I appreciate your letter and I go to Garner NC quite often
so I will make sure we do not stop at Outback there! Thanks!

Its a shame when people write perfectly nice letters only to f them up
at the end.

Erin there is nothing wrong with just explaining the situation. There
is no need to add in exaggerations all they do is take away from your
letter.

You got free replacement chicken. I'd be satisfied with that.

Then again, I'm not exactly a drama queen (I was "traumatized").

I posted about 3 weeks ago about the same chicken bits. Mine were not
raw, but the sauce tasted like chalk. I never got a response from
outback, even from posting on their web page.
