Papa Johns sucks
Posted Wed February 26, 2003, by Rob B. written to Papa John's Pizza
Write a Letter to this Company
I'm writing to bring your attention to a problem with the food quality at Papa John's Pizza. I'm complaining specifically about the taste of an item I recently purchased at a Papa John's Pizza restaurant. By the way, this happened at 2937 Richmond Road
Lexington, KY 40509-1714
.
I order pizza all of the time being a bachelor. It was always Papa Johns. That was until I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and it tasted like someone sprayed Chloraseptic. I know it sounds weird, I was freaking out myself. My entire mouth and lips went numb. This worried me enough that I called to alert the manager that there may be something leaking on the pizza ingredients. I was hung up on. I understand that there maybe some loony people out there that enjoy calling these people up and complaining but I work for a call center, I don't do that. I was hung up on twice. I then went up there to speak with a supervisor and whomever it was that I did speak with acted like I was out of mind, and didn't want to listen to what I had to say. I got my money back and went home. I got a phone number off of the box and called them. The gentlemen I spoke with was very nice and said that someone would contact me soon. I have yet to hear from anyone and it has been months.
I have no intention of eating at your restaurants again. Also, I certainly won't recommend your food to my friends.
Here's what I'd like to see happen: I want someone to contact me about this. It is ridiculous that I can be a level headed, understanding, concerened (not irate) customer and be completley dismissed.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to hear from you very soon.

We certainly do agree, I recently ordered the new "special" Tuscan pies, both of them; one was to come with the thin crust and be $10.95 each when you bought both versions. Both crusts (if I may use that word for the awful dough) were thick. Charged me $12.99 each, not only crap, but they cheated me as well!
The sauce has no character and the ingredients are the very cheapest he could buy. I say he, because John himself is the TV spokesman. He does not really care about pizza, just money!
He was the founder and owner of Dominos, sold it and when the non compete ran out he tried to compete, Dominos is still better. He is a multi multi millionaire and does not care about you and me.
We should boycott, when I complained to the email address, I got a corporate answer and was told the store would call me, never did. Pisses me off every time I see their commercial. I will never buy there again and do tell all my friends.
Anyone from anywhere up north, NY, Buffalo, Cleveland Chicago know real pizza, PJ's is real crap. Find your local Italian (genuine) restaurant; they probably make the best pizza you ever had.

I too have ordered from Papa Johns for years until now. I ordered pizza and wings online and paid with my bank card. I never received the order! I called two hours after I ordered and the manager "John" was rude and called me a liar! I asked him waht I was lying about and he said in a very sarcastic voice "ohh I must be wrong". I called to complain and the operator for online support then tried to give me the run around. I finally got ahold of a regional managers voice mail. Ha! what a joke, the first thing he said in his message was "If you want to file a complaint, leave a detailed message". This must be an ongoing problem.

The Papa John's owner looks like a piece of plastic just like their cheese. GO CAVS... 23cents is too much for your pizza.

I ordered my first papa johns pizza a couple of days ago. It was like eating dough, sauce and uncooked cheese. I had to tear apart the pizza to make sure there was toppings in there. I ordered a pepporoni and did find some very thinly sliced pepporoni. I called to complain and was only told they would put a free pizza on my account the next time I ordered. Fat chance. Why would I order something so terrible (even if it is free). They are making tons of money by selling dough, sauce and uncooked cheese or some sort of cheese that wont melt. I reaheated some of this pizza the next day and the cheese did not melt at all. I feel sick just wondering what I really did eat. It was not pizza. I asked for a refund, not a free pizza and was told they cannot do that. $31.00 for 2 pizzas and a 2 liter of coke. Thats one expenses bottle of pop.

Indeed, they do suck. I've had problems with them in the past and currently have an on-going problem and I've yet to get a valid response from them. If interested, read about it here:

Actually, I stopped eating from evil corporate pizza monster Papa John along time ago.
The pizza makers can never seem to put enough cheese on to cover the whole pie when it bakes, leaving raw bread and sauce areas. Plus they skimp on the toppings. They have even raised the prices to outrageous levels. $14.00 for one topping? The quality is terrible and the taste is only average, if even that.
Why the heck would anybody pay too much for Papa John when there are independent pizza makers with better and cheaper pizzas popping up everywhere.
