Peanut Corporation of America is Selfish and Greedy

Posted Tue January 27, 2009 12:00 pm, by Elizabeth D. written to Peanut Corporation of of America

Mr. Stewart Parnell:

Since your management is obviously so full of cowards that you have only left your media page up online, leaving the American public no other way to voice their anger towards you and your company, I have chosen to contact you via planetfeedback.com. I have no desire to put some call center worker out to let you know what a sad sack of crap you and your management are.

Knowingly distributing a salmonella tainted product into the food supply is a criminal act. Per several television and online news sources, your company sent a sample out from your GA plant for testing, received a positive salmonella reading and still consciously chose to inject it into the domestic food supply. Not to mention that particular plant was mentioned as having been cited numerous times for health code violations.

Your company is obviously run by some sick, selfish, greedy individuals, including yourself. "Family-run business" my foot. Y'all are no better than Bernie Madoff in my opinion.

Also, is someone in the GA DHEC system on your payroll? How have you stayed in business?

Don't we have enough to worry about domestically and internationally without hacks like you causing more problems with something we take for granted--safe food?

Either clean up your act or close your doors. If I worked for your company, I would have walked out by now. I would truly hate to see another American business go under and more people lose their jobs, but in this case, you and your "family-run" business deserve to fail because your greed has both sickened and killed innocent people. And anyone who was compliant in this INTENTIONAL distribution of a foodborne illness is as culpable as you are as CEO.

Disgustedly and Most Sincerely,
Elizabeth D.
South Carolina

The following information has been posted on their contact us part of
their site since 2004 until they took that page completely off their
servers. Hope this information helps. Please be sure to voice to them
about the risks they put our children in for $$. My kids could have
gotten sick or even died all because they love those mini peanut
butter crackers.

where the company also did not initially reveal to the FDA during the
current outbreak investigation that they had received the positive
tests for salmonella.

Thanks for the source Venice. As always you are on top of these
things.
This company seems to have chosen to ignore the health of all persons
who would come in contact with their product.
Parnell will probably state that his subordinates never informed him
of these reports and expect them to take the fall. But I am sure if
the middle management is going to fall so is the upper managemnt and
owner.

I hope they do bring this man and his company up on charges that they
deliberately allowed their product to be sold to companies around the
country knowing that they had salmonella outbreaks in their plant
And since there have been deaths reported from this particular
salmonella outbreak then charges of murder should also be brought
against him and his family.

Choosing money over people...only the worst can ever come of this.

Can you point to a source on the web that indicates this? Whereas the
cause of the outbreak may quite possibly due to improper food
handling, continuing operations after the presence in product is
confirmed sounds possibly criminal.

I couldn't find anything that reports this. The fact salmonella was
confirmed to come from PCA, yes. But not that they continued
operations afterwards.
