Pepsi Throwback Removed from Market makes me Angry

ANGRY! Why only a limited release of Pepsi Throwback? The fact is I and MANY, MANY would gladly continue to buy it forever! SYRUP SWEETENERS make a FOUL FILM ON TEETH AND ENTIRE INSIDE OF MOUTH. I had given up all of these products due to the nasty taste and the film and had switched to Boylan's, which still uses sugar.
I took Pepsi throwback to work, and got fabulous reviews, and 30 folks went right out and bought it. I believe you've made a tremendous mistake here. Too bad. Back to Boylan's.

Reconsider releasing throwback permanently. My circle has noticed that if we drink corn syrup sweetened soft drinks, we tend to feel the need to EAT more...get hungry after having it. Doesn't seem to happen with sugar sweetened. Plus, the FOUL FILM in the mouth is eliminated and the taste is cleaner, lighter. Your greed to do it on the cheap is making you produce an inferior product. As medical concerns and studies point to these and other difficulties associated with hfcs, you will find more and more people will also drop the product. Too bad for you. You're chasing away your clientele.

I completely agree. I hope Coke brings out a similar throwback item.

I just wrote a letter about this as well, I didnt make it shared
letter though. My husband is really upset about this only being
limited. He loves pepsi and LOVES natural cane sugar sodas. It is a
nicer taste. I got a nice letter back saying that they will make a
note of the basically and maybe they will bring it back. : (

Me nieces husband is a general regional distribution manager for
Pepsi.
He said that the reason they do not keep these "speciality" Pepsi
products on the market for very long is that they just do not have the
room to do so. Their product spaces are limited in ALL stores and to
just make these available in vending machines would not be as good an
idea either.
I suggested that instead of removing these from the market (my
favortie was the diet Chocolate/Cherry Dr Pepper) why not make them
available online for people to order. This way they could have these
stored in the warehouses and sent out as ordered.

I have not heard from him but he said he was going to speak with his
boss who may take the idea back to the main headquarters. He said
Pepsi works hard on trying to keep their customers drinking their
products.

It may work...who knows...will just have to wait to see.

I too loved this product. Especially the Mountain Dew version. I
don't drink a lot of Dew, but when hubby had me try it, I could
definitely tell a difference...no after taste. It was wonderful!

How do you get a company to make a product that for some reason they
don't want to make, at least after some kind of promotional time?

I guess their concern is the cost. They would have to charge more for
it, thus probably driving more business to Coke.

Do they have a product suggestion site? Maybe you could launch a
grassroots Facebook campaign and garner lots of media attention. Would
make it hard for them to ignore.

at least historically. There may be a way today to make the cost
competitive, but I can tell you that I pay more for Snapple now that
it is made with sugar. I don't mind, because I feel it is a better
product.

Soda has become so darned sweet, and people love to get it dirt cheap.
There is a lot of inertia there, but I hope you win the fight.

Good feedback.
I wrote a letter here and they got back to me, so when you hear back
too, let us know their response.
