Take pictures and compare next to a dime etc. Good idea and then I would have my lawyer send it certified mail to the FDA for identification. Then I would call the corporate offices.

Just the idea of something like this happening is unnerving. I wouldn't care what it was or where it came from, but I would expect them to at least find a plausable answer. The Pizza Hut's near me have always tried their best to address customer service issues. I'm surprised the manager wasn't available to a customer on the phone, especially with a concern such as this. I hope they get back to you.

You will lose your "evidence" if you mail it off to PIzza Hut. Maybe takes pics with a high resolution camera, and put something like a penny or dime next to it for size comparison.
That would creepy me out beyond words. I hope you get some sort of answer as to what in the world that object is.

I'd be tempted to take the object with me to the store that delivered the pizza. Show it to them and ask what your next step should be. It would be harder to ignore you face-to-face.
