Skimpy Pizza Toppings

I have been a lifelong fan of Pizza Hut and order from them all the time (unless I am with someone who wants something else). Seeing as how I've been ordering from you for 10-15 years, I know the product and what it should look like. I ordered a Supreme Pizza a few weeks ago, and when I received it I thought it looked a little skimpy on the toppings but figured it was a fluke. I'm not a big complainer and we were hungry so we went ahead and ate it. Last night we ordered again, and lo and behold when I received my pizza, again there were barely any toppings on it. I actually counted 4 pieces of onion and 6 mushrooms that I could see on the entire pie. Seeing as how this happened twice in a row, I'm beginning to think this is not a fluke and that your pizzas are being made a different way on purpose. If that is the case, I've not noticed a drop in prices. In fact, I think your prices have risen.
I would like Pizza Hut to start making their pizzas the way they used to or drop their prices since I am not getting as much food. If this is an issue specific to this store, I would like for someone in corporate to speak to them regarding food quality. The location that I order from is located at 1916 Skillman Avenue, Dallas TX 75206.
Please note that I am not writing this to receive anything for free or vouchers of any sort. I simply want the value for my money and I (unfortunately for me!) won't order from Pizza Hut again until the pizzas are made the way they used to be.

I had the same problem tonight. It was enough to make me choose another chain. The store was out of mushrooms and there was not even enough cheese on the pizza to even hold the veggies and meat on it and the few sparse toppings that were on the pizza would fall off if you were not careful. I would have been better off buying a generic store brand pizza. I could have bought 4 or 5 of them and doctored them up for about seven bucks for all 5 and had a much better pizza and I would have had 4 or 5 meals for about half the price or less.

I never get why some people love this chain, including people in my own family! :) You are all strange people! *laughs* Kidding of course. I'm just not a Pizza Hut kind of guy.
Like Bill below, I would be interested in hearing what they have to say, especially if it's not just a form letter response. It could very well be that they are indeed instructing their shops to put less on. If that's the case, it would be much like the cereal and dairy (i.e. Ice Cream) and snacks (i.e. chips) industries. Each of those are severely reducing the size of their items, but holding prices. When their costs go up, they can either raise prices for the same amount of product, maintain prices for less product, or even raise prices and reduce product. If I am not mistaken, studies have been quoted here before stating that people are more likely to buy the cheaper item, even though it's smaller than pay more for the same.

I noticed the same thing over the last couple of years. First the amount of cheese began to drop off dramatically (so that you had to order extra cheese), then the toppings began to decrease. I suspect its a cost savings type of thing.

Perhaps the decrease in toppings was to offset a price increase. I love pizza hut pan pizzas but those cheap pizza mia's are nasty!
Good Day

Stacey K.,
This is good feedback for the brand as well as the particular store.
It is good that after a few weeks you decided to give them another try.
That being said even a day waited in giving feedback in the Food and Beverage business can be the difference between hitting the target and not. Probabaly hundreds of pies have left that one location since your observation. Some up to spec and maybe, if they have not changed their recipe, some not.
Corporate will probably follow-up on this but the best way to give feedback is to speak with the manager when at the store or call back after you have received delivery.
Stop back and let us know what they say because alot of things have changed, for good and bad, over the last 10 -15 years and toppings on this pizza might be one of them.
