Pizza Hut delivery gone wrong...

I ordered 4 pizza's online on 12/29/06 to be delivered at 12:00pm that same day. I recieved confirmation that the pizzas would be delivered at that time.

They did not arrive until 12:45pm and they forgot the 2 2-liter Pepsi's and the 2-liter Diet Pepsi that I ordered. When I called they really didn't have any excuse for the tardiness and lack of detail on the order. I've contacted thier corporate office through their website 3 times and have recieved the same answer... "Thank you for contacting Pizza Hut. We do apologize for your unpleasant experience and we want to address this issue appropriately.

The location you have provided us with is a franchised location and therefore, we will notify their management offices immediately and share with them your comments and concerns. You should be contacted by the appropriate franchise management team in 2-3 business days.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact Pizza Hut. With input from valuable customers like you, we are able to resolve situations that might otherwise go unnoticed."

So far I have not been contacted by anyone other than the above response from the corporate offices. I know it's just pizza, but this service does not make me want to order from Pizza Hut ever again.

Some kind of acknowledgement of the complaint. Reimbursement for the inconvenience of waiting for the order and for the missing items on the order.

Pizza hut is not the same as it used to be. I made an order in Jackson
Ms. on last Sunday on HWY 80. The woman whom was working there as a
manger called me all kinds or Bitches and Hoes, I could not believe
that I was in a business. I called in and complainted; however, there
has being no one from that office has located me. I can't believe that
we have gone down that badly at the all american Pizza Palace AKA
Pizza Hut. I will never again eat at any Pizza Hut in American. It's
going to be Papa Johns for now on. Their pizzas are better any how.

I order from Pizza Hut online also but I pay in cash when the order
comes to my door. I treat ordering online in the same way I would
treat it if I were ordering over the phone. That way if I dont get
all my order then there can be come negoiating. If you have already
paid, then you really cant do much other then complain...

Well, 1) you should always, always pay for deliveries in cash and wait
until they come to your door. Therefore, you can pay for it when you
see it. 2) Stop trying to keep on bugging them. You seem like you are
trying to contact them via Planet Feedback and by way of their
corporate office. Contact them once if you wish and if they don't
resolve it, go elsewhere to order pizza. After all, there is a lot of
competition in the pizza business.

The only thing I can say is, "MACHINES ARE GREAT WHEN THEY WORK
CORRECTLY". Even though you received part of your order, that does
not necessarily mean Pizza Hut received the whole thing.

I have, more than once, entered things into the computer, saved them,
and the next thing I know, they are not there. This mostly happens at
work with our database.

Hope you hear from Pizza Hut over this. They need to at least check
into something being wrong with their internet ordering service. I
have a feeling you are not the only one.

What did the person who delivered your pizza say?

I've had them forget my soda more times then I can count and the
deliver driver always fixes the problem for me. Either they go back
and get it, if it's a slowish night or they credit my account.

Did you make the delivery driver aware that he had forgotton
something?

I don't understand why people order pizza on the Internet anyway - is
it really that difficult to simply pick up the phone and make the
call?

As it is - why not call the actual Pizza Hut location that screwed up
your order and take it up with them, since even the Pizza Hut website
says they can't do anything about it due to that restaurant being a
franchised one. Again, what is the problem with making a phone call?

I think people rely on the Internet way too much for something that
can just as easily be taken care of with a little face-to-face (or, at
the very least, over-the-phone) interaction.

For the life of me I can not understand why people do not bring their
problem to the manager of the entity that caused them the problem to
begin with.
Pretty basic stuff in my mind having been on the recieving side of
both positive and negative feedback over the years.

I see what you're saying by tickytack Thu January 25, 2007 @ 3:59 PM

by tickytack Posted Thu January 25, 2007 @ 8:14 AM

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. If you got a message informing you that
the location at which you had the poor experience was a franchise, why
did you not just contact the franchise again? I don't see why you
would contact corporate again, twice, having already been told the
matter was not one that could be resolved by corporate.

As for reimbursement, this complaint is about a month old and all they
have to go on is your word (not saying you're lying), so I doubt
you'll get that. In fact, if anything, you should have asked for it
at the time. As for the missing items, you paid for them and didn't
do anything to get your money back at the time?

That is the part of your letter I find a bit odd.

You are contacting the wrong people.

The Pizza Hut about which you're complaining is owned not by Pizza Hut
but by someone else. While there are plenty of things for which
corporate helps coordinate all the locations, how fast you get your
pizza and whether your Pepsi has been forgotten are not two of them.

You need to try contacting the manager of the location you're
complaining about. While I recognize that the reason this is so far
after the fact is that you have been pursuing other avenues, the
location you should be complaining to may not factor that in, so I
would recommend that you complain soon or give it up.

But continuing to contact the corporate offices is going to get you
exactly nowhere. Not because they aren't lovely people who want
desperately to help you, but because it's a franchise and they cannot
do anything about it.

On the compensation, I agree with you on the drinks. I do not think
you are owed anything for the inconvenience. But reasonable minds can
probably differn on that latter point.

I'm not sure what Pizza Hut's Internet ordering system is supposed to
be, but several times my order has been missed as well. I get a
confirmation email that my order was received, but then I go to pick
up my pizza and get a blank stare from the cashier.

I hope the issue is resolved soon.
