Why the heck do my comments on the shared letters keep getting deleted?

it seems that one of the rules is no foul language, however, i read a
post once where someones comment got axed because he masked a swear,
but ive seen posts with more than one complete swear remain up, i
understand we can no longer call someone out on poor grammar in their
letter, and obviously no personal attacks, but ive seen many of those,
so whats up? PFB, please clarify!

Clarification by The PlanetFeedback Team Fri March 20, 2009 @ 6:43 PM

I had not posted on here for awhile until the other day.

The letter I commented on had a lot of errors. I forgot that this
site does not allow you to comment on that.

My comment got deleted and I got an email from Greg at PFB explaining
why.

I'm not sure if they always email you or not but I thought it was a
nice gesture and it also reminded me of a rule I had forgot about.

I'm not sure if they always email you by Bill R. Thu March 19, 2009 @ 11:51 AM

Probably most of us have had our at least one of our comments removed.
I dont always look back at what I posted, so I dont always catch when
my posts have been deleted.

I have my own opinions, just like others, that is what they are,
opinions. They are not directed personally at anyone on this board.

I sometimes regret things that I have said after I hit POST, and email
Greg to remove my post. Often times I am just joking, but the way I
word it comes across differently. I have always been accused of
having a dry sense of humor, because I can say it with a straight
face, perhaps I type the same way. Sometimes I get too personal, I
agree.

My intention is post my opinion and often times to offer a different
view than the popular view.

I dont agree with certain posters viewpoints (not just the credit
issue!), and they do not agree with mine but I cannot attack anyone
personally.

As I stated before, Greg is always there to point you in the right
direction.

Good Day

I think 6.5 is as high as you can go on the Snark Scale, after that
you get deleted. The trick is learning how far you can push it (see
the responses to the plagiarism letter, for example).

We removed just one of your comments in the past two days because it
was insulting. We try to give commenters a wide latitude however we
do expect they wont attack letter writers and/or other commenters.
