Defective Capacitors... Flat Panel TV's

A 37 inch flat screen television purchased at Walmart in 2006 made by Polaroid cost about $900 new. There was only a one year warranty and within one year and a few months... complete blank screen! $900 paperweight!
Promptly called Polaroid to inquire about the problem assuming they might be willing to assist. Wrong... turns out that after the one year warranty was up, they did not care at all about my problem and only attempted to sell me a "refurbished" model at a "discounted rate" of $300. No thanks. Not going to buy another defective product. A quick web search produced many results for nearly the exact type of problem with this particular brand of television. I was able to locate on a web board how another consumer had fixed the problem themselves and it was a cheap fix! So far the tv is still working, but has a permanent black scar in the right hand corner. $900 is a little more than I would have ever paid to a company that I know wont back their product or show any concern for what is clearly a defect in workmanship. Very disappointed in polaroid.

Either refund my entire purchase price or offer to replace the television set (same size, style) FREE of charge... any charges. Issue a recall on the defective product (capacitor) and show reverence for the consumers that have provided them with business.
