Coupons Already Expired Before they're mailed

Today I received a box marked P&GBrandSampler in the mail. It contained small samples of Procter & Gamble products as well as coupons. I love freebies, like anyone else, and will pass along anything I can't use.
That said, one of the samples came with coupons that expired two weeks ago. The Always Maxi came in a plastic wrap with two coupons for Always Maxi LeakGuard Plus products. The coupons expired March 31, 2012. Today is April 13, 2012. I was cheerfully going to use the coupon at the earliest opportunity ... oops.
In future, please code the outside of your sample packs somehow, so that if you put coupons in them you don't waste postage mailing expired ones out to consumers. Most of us can't use them past the expiration date. The exception is military commissaries, especially those overseas. You can send them all the coupons you can stuff in an envelope (and please do!).
