The painted label on your 42Oz.Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oatmeal disqualifies the empty container from being recycled as cardboard.

The "cheaper" store brands and even cereal from discount stores have detachable labels that once empty and minus the lid, which can be recycled with plastics, can then be recycled as cardboard.

Please take a moment and consider this suggestion.

My wife buys Quaker Oats in the container and we throw the empty ones in the recycling bin all the time, never had an issue.
