RAID Dribbles Out HalfwayThrough the Job

Posted Sat August 11, 2007 12:00 pm, by Jennifer M. written to Raid

Write a Letter to this Company

I have a complaint about the usability of your Raid Wasp & Hornet Killer spray cans. I have continuous problems with wasp nests on my porches, and in the past, Raid sprays have always been effective and done the job well. This is still the case, but the spray cans delivery systems have left me annoyed and wondering if I should consider other options.

I recently bought a can of the Earth Options Wasp and Hornet spray, and used it according to directions. All was well the first time I used it, and I had no complaints, as it sprayed the stream a good distance as it was supposed to do. I tried to use it again when I discovered another wasp nest, only to find that all the propellant had somehow been used up and all I could get out was a dribble of insecticide going down the can and onto my hand. I chalked it up to a faulty can, and just got a new one, because I understand these things can happen. The second can I bought was the original scent Wasp and Hornet Killer, and once again, it worked the first time I used it, but any other time afterwards, it went to a dribble and finally NOTHING coming out. I still have a half full can of this product that is not usable. This I can't just chalk up to coincidence, but I think that there is something wrong with these cans or the propellant you are using in them causing this usually excellent product to not work correctly. I still have both cans of Raid in my possession, and would gladly give you the batch numbers so you can look into this problem.

Please, check the manufacturing of this product and see why the cans don't spray and you end up wasting close to half the product. Raid is a quality bug spray but if this problem persists I will have no choice but to try a different brand to meet my needs that will work. Thank you for your time.

Instead of using raid or another pesticide, look at the suggestions in
this link:

http://www.getridofthings.com/get-rid-of-wasps.htm

these are much more earth friendly, and they work. I have not
purchased any more spray cans since i started using the pop bottle
method.

I literally just wrote this letter a few hours ago, and already
someone from SC Johnson & Co. has responded to me. Not just a canned
response, either. Yay to SC Johnson & Co.!
