My boyfriend and I arrived quite early (25 minutes) for dinner with his daughter at your Red Lobster restaurant in Bloomington, Minnesota last night. I told the host we wouldn't be ready to be seated until 7, he told us that when the rest of party arrived, he'd put us at the top of the list. Perfect!
We got seated as soon as she showed up.
Our waiter (I REALLY wish I'd gotten his name) was great, later apologized for the food not showing up yet, and while the food wasn't out superfast, it sure wasn't late by my standards. We had salad, soup, and mussels before our entrees were brought out, and had perhaps five minutes between the time the mussels were finished and our meals were served to us. I find that perfectly acceptable.
Our waiter checked on us at perfect intervals, kept my bf's iced tea filled (which he was so happy with -- he gets tired of having to ask repeatedly for refills at other places).
Later, the manager came by to apologize for our meals having taken so long and told us we would get a free dessert. I told her that I am a person who DOES complain to management about poor service, and she had nothing to worry about -- our food came out timely enough for us, and our waiter had been perfect the whole evening (we were there about two hours--talking slowed the eating down).
The food was perfect, the free dessert was a plus (we would have ordered it anyway) -- and it was chocolate cake, and perhaps in the top 5 chocolate cakes I've ever had, it was so rich and fudgy.
Keep up the great work. While I didn't agree that our food was slow to be served to us, I appreciate a waiter and manager who care a lot about service. You have a wonderful restaurant in Bloomington, Minnesota.
