Very Rude Waitress AND Manager

My husband and I took my folks out last night for their birthday. We were seated promptly, our waitress, who was only waiting on three SMALL tables (includings ours) immediatly took our drink order and that is the last we saw of her. After about 30 minutes of holding our menus, and the waitress walking past us and not stopping (and it was not a busy night) I went to the bar and asked the bartender to get the manager for me...which ***** immediatly did. The manger came over, we explained the obnoxious time we had been waiting for service and he didn't even act like he cared. He went and got the very nice bartender to take our order and ***** proceeded to wait on us all night...even though it was not his job, nor his responsibility. The waitress, in the meantime, was dealing with the table next to us, whom also had a huge complaint with the manager on their wait time and he managed to make an effort to continuously come back and check on them....because that lady made a huge scene about the wait time and I didnt.
At the very least, I would like a gift certificate to another Red Lobster to replace the meal for myself, my husband, and my parent's that ruined their birthday dinners. I would also like ***** at the Salt Lake City, Utah Red Lobster acknowledged for going above and beyond his job duties. If it weren't for him, I would NEVER go to a Red Lobster again.

You should take the time to also write a compliment letter for the bartender. He went well above and beyond his job duty to give you great service, and that should never be ignored. You did mention this, but unfortunately it will be clouded by the complaint.
Oh but wait... i guess it would be a waste of time for you because you wont get use a compliment letter as justification for a "gimme grab"

I agree it sounds like an awful experience, and while the manager may have seemed rude, he did well not to get involved or incite an already agitated customer, instead he did get the bartender to tend to your table and tend well (kudos to him for doing someone elses job and not taking it out on the customer).
I don't see the need for compensation. How was everyone's dinner ruined if everyone sat there and consumed them? It seems no one lost their appetite or decided to leave.
I wouldn't let this sour you from visiting Red Lobster. I've gone plenty times and waited more than 30 minutes just to get a table. Their food is consistantly good and the price is reasonable compared to other seafood places.

That is TERRIBLE! My family and I had a similar incident a while back. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon. We went to a Mexican restaurant. The waitress brought water, chips and salsa to our table and that was the last we saw of her (except when she was waiting on the table next to us!).
My husband finally went to the person whom you pay and asked him how much we owed for chips and salsa. He asked if there was anything wrong and my husband informed him that she never came to take our order! They didn't charge for the chips and salsa, but that was it.....it is no surprise to us that the restaurant closed a few weeks after that.
I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone! We have several RUDE customer care people in Texas too! It is really sad that people do not take pride in their work anymore.
Kudos to the Gentleman who did help you that day! He should be commended for a JOB WELL DONE! :)

Sounds like you did get good service from Manuel throughout the night. You ate your meals and, presumably, enjoyed them (or you would have said something in your letter). Because of that, I don't think you're due anything.
Don't avoid all Red Lobsters: A restaurant is only as good as its manager. Just don't return to THIS one.
And while I agree that your waitress sounds awful, did you attempt to get her attention, or did you sit there, politely/quietly, hoping she'd stop by? Just curious.
