myduiclass.com hides the truth!

Posted Tue August 14, 2012 4:38 pm, by Jessica K. written to Right Direction Services LLC

Right Direction Services LLC (www.myduiclass.com) is simply a scam. The website is not only deceiving but the customer service is what is horrible.

At first I thought I was the only one with the problem, then the company writes me a letter saying, "You are however not the first person who enrolled in our program because they had an approaching court/probation date and/ or other deadline in the hope that that they could use the "Proof of Enrollment" to avoid any consequences. Some of these individuals demanded a refund, as did you and when denied, filed a complaint"...

One thing I have learned is that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, its probably a duck. If I am not the first person or even close the the first person with this problem, I have to assume this is the companies problem.

Basically I signed up for a class, never took it because I found out it was not accepted by my state. Once again I never even started the class. Within 48 hours of signing up, I requested a refund ($400) and they absolutely refused.

I would obviously like my refund, and on top of that I would like to pass onto others my experience with Right Direction Services LLC (www.myduiclass.com)No one should deal with a company that does not stand behind their product and instead claims you should have done more research on your own part... Absolutely disgusting.

is it wrong that I read that as "benefits" vs "perils" ? by PepperElf Mon August 27, 2012 @ 9:49 AM

It took me all of 30 seconds to find it too.

The guaranteed acceptance LINKS to the TERMS OF SERVICE.
http://www.myduiclass.com/terms.html

The TERMS has a link IN RED detailing state-by-state acceptance

Your letter details that you are in florida.
They clearly state that you CANNOT use this if you are a florida
resident

http://www.rightdirectionservices.com/florida_classes.html

If you are a resident of Florida with a DUI in Florida, the DMV
requires you to take the class in person locally. If you are a
resident of another state, but hold a Florida License with an offense
in Florida you must take the class in person or obtain preapproval
from the requesting authority.

Note Regarding Florida Courts
While we have had Florida residents successfully use our program to
satisfy the Courts in Florida, it is on a case by case basis and
cannot be guaranteed, which is why we require that you obtain
preapproval from the Court or your Probation Officer..

Preapproval must be obtained prior to registering for class.

---------------------------------------

Yet somehow they're suppose to refund you because they deceived you...
by what? Not making you read the rules first? That's on you.

Clearly they made the information available. It is not their fault if
you didn't read it before buying.

Forget the ducks. Duck quotes don't mean anything if you don't read
the RULES on what you agree to.

And they made this information pretty easy to understand.

Other people did good research on this class, so I'll just comment on
this line. That's not true at all. Sometimes, customers just aren't
reasonable, and that's why companies have such policies in the first
place.

They are not defrauding you they are trying to prevent customers from
defrauding them.

Sounds like a very legitimate reason to not issue refunds. People pay
for it, print out the page saying they are enrolled, bring it to
court, get off light and then cancel and ask for a refund.

As explained below it is very easy and clear to see what states it
works in. There was no excuse why you didnt read it and see you were
not elegible.

But that's not the case here. Their product may be fine, but you
didn't try it. As for your complaint that they claim you should have
done more research, that's also true. Did you retain an attorney for
your case, or just try and handle it alone? If it's the former, your
attorney should have advised you that this course wouldn't help. If
it's the latter, all you had to do was read the terms and conditions
before you signed up. Kathleen below did some good research in two
minutes, and I found the same info as she did in about the same time.
It doesn't matter how many other people you can find who are in the
same boat as you. It's the responsibility of legal adults to read
what they're signing up for.

It is your responsibility to check whether or not the course you
signed up for is acceptable for your situation. You cannot blame them
after the fact. You should have checked this information before
signing up.

I just did a quick search of this website and I looked up Florida (as
that seems to be where you are from, according to this letter) At the
top of the webpage there is a link that says "Check state" when I
clicked on Florida it stated:

"We offer the following classes for offenses for Non Residents of
Florida with a DUI In Florida.

Preapproval must be obtained prior to registering for class."

The site tells you right there you need to obtain approval BEFORE
registering for their course, as their online course is only accepted
on a case by case basis in Florida.

There is a place that says "Acceptance Guaranteed" subject to terms.
Clearly printed on the terms and conditions page it states:

"You agree that you have reviewed the states acceptance page and have
followed any applicable steps if your state is listed. Including that
if your state is listed as not approving online classes and you enroll
in the class anyway, that you have preapproval from the requesting
authority or that you are willing to accept the chance that you class
may be rejected. Refunds will not be given for those enrolling in a
class that they are not eligible for."

Obviously you did NOT do this, and therefore you are not eligible for
a refund.

This is entirely on you. They are not sneaky or scamming. It took me
less than 2 minutes to find all of this information.

"This is entirely on you" - EXACTLY. You found this info first. So you too know how EASY it is to find! by PepperElf Wed August 15, 2012 @ 10:06 AM

yeah but it's like signs. no matter how big, bold, noticeable, or how many you make - someone always invents a reason to blame you for the fact that they didn't bother reading it n/t by PepperElf Wed August 15, 2012 @ 4:26 PM
