False advertising

On 20 June 2012 Safeway rretail grocery in Hayward, CA on Jackson Street advertised Smithfield bacon for non-members @ $7.49 per pound, Buy one get one free. When I checked out, I was charged $14.98. I am a safeway member and presented my card for the purchase. The clerk and the manager refused to sell me the bacon at the advertised price of $3.75 per pound for members. False advertising and many others were in line behind me with similar complaints of overcharging!

Sell me the bacon at the advertised price!
Stop the false advertising.

Re: False advertising by tali Posted Wed June 27, 2012 @ 4:19 PM I see. She was charged full price for both one pound packages of bacon. Hence her total was $14.98. Had she gotten the BOGO price, as a card presenting memeber, one package of bacon would have been $3.75, and the other $3.74 OR $7.49 for one package and $0 for the second. Did they have signs up for this offer? Or just an ad flyer? Good luck! Hope you left your purchases and walked away. Members price was $3.75 per pound which is the same price as the buy one get one free price (2 pounds cost you $7.50 same as non members but you get 2 pounds instead of one.)
